There are three streets in Chengdu, all named after "Zitong". They are Zitong Bridge Main Street, Zitong Bridge West Street and Zitong Street ( Zitong Street belongs to Qingyang District, Chengdu City). However, from 1940 to 1990, "Zitong" was replaced by "梓橦". In fact, "橦" was a typo of Tong.

These three streets were all recorded as "Zitong" in Guangxu's "Chengdu Map" of the Qing Dynasty, Tongzhi's "Chengdu County Chronicles" of the Qing Dynasty and "Chengdu General View" of the late Qing Dynasty. However, in the 29th year of the Republic of China (1940) ) "Zilu" replaced "Zitong" in the "Chengdu City Map" at that time. "Zilu" was misused on street signs and various Chengdu maps thereafter.

Following the trajectory of history, explore the root causes of corruption. In 1940, it was the period of the Anti-Japanese War. The war was raging, the country was in crisis, and there was no stable oasis. Perhaps one person wrote it incorrectly, and others imitated it. There was no time to correct the mistake, and the misrepresentation was passed on. In this way, "Zitong" was misrepresented by "Zilu" for half a century. In the place name census in 1990, the Chengdu Place Names Office renamed "Zilu" in Santiao Street to "Zitong", restoring the original appearance of history.

The meanings of "Zitong" and "Zilu" are very different. Catalpa is the name of a tree, a deciduous tree, distributed from the southern part of northeastern my country to the Yangtze River Basin. It is difficult to explain the street names after catalpa trees in places where there are no catalpa trees. Zitong is the name of the county. In the 22nd year of Jian'an in the Eastern Han Dynasty (AD 217), Liu Bei divided Guanghan County and established it, with the seat of government in Zitong. Its jurisdiction was equivalent to the east of Jiangyou and Anxian in Sichuan, the north of Mianyang and Yanting, the west of Guangyuan and Jiange, and Ningqiang and Sichuan in Shaanxi. Qingnan region. Most of the residents who moved to Chengdu from the ancient Zitong County lived together. Over time, Zitong Street gradually formed. There was originally a Zitong Temple on this street. To get to the Zitong Temple, one had to cross a bridge in front of the temple, hence the name of Zitong Bridge Street. Emperor Zitong is enshrined in Zitong Temple. Emperor Zitong is the god of fame, fortune and status enshrined in Taoism. Legend has it that this god's surname was Zhang Yazi, and he lived in Qiqu Mountain in Shu (today's north of Zitong County). He died in battle during the Jin Dynasty, and his descendants built a temple to commemorate him. During the Tang and Song Dynasties, he was granted the title of King Yingxian many times. According to Taoist legends, the Jade Emperor ordered Zitong to be in charge of Wenchang and the world of wealth, so in the third year of Yanyou's reign (AD 1316), Renzong of the Yuan Dynasty was granted the title of "Fu Yuan Kaihua Wenchang Si Lu Hongren Emperor". According to legend, Zitong was originally named a god after death and had nothing to do with the Wenchang star in the sky. Later, it was translated and made by the Ji altar and consecrated in the Yuan Dynasty. He became the Wenchang emperor and merged with the Wenchang star.

To talk about the relationship between this street and the people, it is that in the 1990s, Zitong Bridge was really popular for a while. A street snack "Chuan Chuan Xiang" was invented here, and bamboo dishes were used for cooking and vegetarian dishes. The skewers are all 10 cents each, and the soup is free. Plus a plate of sea pepper noodles, Sichuan pepper noodles, and crushed crispy peanuts are mixed together. The skewers of vegetables are cooked in the hot pot soup. Finally, dip it in the plate.
