2. Introduction of Hubei Academy of Fine Arts

Hubei Institute of Fine Arts is the only multi-disciplinary and multi-educational institution in Central China. The school was formerly known as Wuchang Art School, founded in 1920, and later named as "Private Wuchang Art College" (referred to as Wuchang Art College for short). As one of the earliest art colleges in China, our school is an important birthplace of modern higher art education in China. In the history of running a school for more than 90 years, we have always adhered to the "eclectic" academic spirit and the "all-inclusive" teaching concept, and trained generations of outstanding talents who "worship morality, study hard and be sensitive to beauty" to serve the society, making unique contributions to the development of fine arts in China.

At present, the school has two campuses, Qianlong Island and Tanhualin, covering an area of more than 700 mu, with more than 8,000 students at all levels.

The school has 12 departments, including Chinese painting department, oil painting department, printmaking department, mural and comprehensive material painting department, sculpture department, design department, clothing art design department, environmental art design department, industrial design department, watercolor painting department, fine arts department, animation college, as well as visual art foundation department, public course department, Marxism college and continuing education and training college.
