The large-scale historical and cultural film "Tianfu Memory" was jointly produced by the Propaganda Department of Chengdu Municipal Committee, the Municipal Bureau of Radio, Film and Television and the Overseas Center of CCTV. According to documentary producer Qian Bin, there are many documentaries about Chengdu's cultural history, but most of them are just a little, lacking the overall combing and induction of Chengdu's history of more than 3,000 years. At this time, the words of Zhang Yimou, the director of the propaganda film "Chengdu, a city that you don't want to leave when you come", opened the way of thinking. Soon, the main line of the documentary was determined, and the history and culture of Chengdu were sorted out in series, and the new ideas in the past history were excavated, with special emphasis on the positive significance and enlightenment of history to reality. The name of the film is Tianfu Memory, which means "Taking history as a mirror, we can know the rise and fall".

Seven easy to draft, strive for perfection

Considering the quality and market of the film, Chengdu TV people decided to jointly create Tianfu Memory with CCTV Overseas Exchange Center. In June 2004, a shooting team of more than 30 people led by Li Yin, editor-in-chief and deputy director of CCTV Overseas Center, entered Chengdu. In May of that year, Yuan Tingdong, known as a walking dictionary in Chengdu, began to write. Two months later, Teacher Yuan Tingdong made the first draft of 9 episodes and finished the second draft in late July. After approval, the crew decided to let Li Yanguo, former vice chairman of Shandong Writers Association, join the screenwriter. After discussing with Yuan Tingdong for 7 days, Li Yanguo started the creation of the third draft. It is reported that "Tianfu Memory" was written in seven drafts before it was finally completed. After two months of shooting, the feature film began a five-month post-production in Beijing. Finally, the film consists of historical materials, shooting materials and three-dimensional animation, of which three-dimensional animation is the biggest highlight in the film. Li Yin, the famous director of CCTV Overseas Center, revealed that it is the first time in the history of CCTV to publicize Chengdu on such a large scale, which shows the value of this feature film.
