The largest "village in the city" in Shanghai —— Photographic documentary on the rise and fall of Hongqi Village

Old Shanghai, who lives in Putuo District, should have heard of the name "Hongqi Village". This area belongs to Changzheng Town, Putuo District, and consists of seven natural villages, starting from Zhongning Road in the west, Cao Yang Road in the east, Wuning Road in the south and Tongchuan Road in the north. By 20 14, Hongqi Village, which covers an area of less than 600 mu, has 9 large markets and 16 "four small" (small hotels, supermarkets, restaurants and small leisure and entertainment) places. It has become a veritable "village in the city".

20 15 10 walked into the "village in the city" along Tongchuan Road and recorded this small independent kingdom with a photographic lens. In my opinion, it is a shabby, slippery muddy road, a stinking garbage river, full of garbage, and sewage flows across the road and at the corner. The buildings here are old, and all kinds of illegal buildings are growing wildly. Behind the house, there are wires everywhere. There are no traffic rules, no sidewalks, mopeds, buns moving freely inside, and small vendors sitting on the floor, gathering into a strange but humanistic community.

Because of historical reasons, it has long been a "three no matter" special zone. The reason is that "Hongqi Village" is actually located in the jurisdiction of Shiquan Road Street and is regarded as an "enclave" of Changzheng Town (not bordering Changzheng Town). It used to be a special zone with "one place and two places".

In such a chaotic environment, the quality of life of residents here can be imagined. It almost makes you feel that in the sixties and seventies of last century, the villagers lived an isolated life. Most of them work in the fruit wholesale market or aquatic products market on Tongchuan Road, leaving early and returning late, and they don't care whether the environment is dirty or not.

The land property here is very complicated. 1997, Hongqi Village was transformed into Shanghai Xinglong Industrial Co., Ltd., which has jurisdiction over Hua Shan Fruit Market and Wuning Coach Station, and seven production teams were simultaneously transformed into seven joint-stock cooperative companies. Hua Shan Fruit Market is the largest professional fruit trading market in the city, with fruit sales accounting for more than one third of the city.

In addition to the fruit market, there are Tongchuan Road Seafood and Aquatic Products Trading Market, Jinsheng Home and Pinzun International Business Building, which attract more migrant workers. There is also a car inspection center on Fucun Road nearby, so there are even many car repair booths. The prosperity of commerce has also brought a large influx of people. So don't look at the bad environment here, but the traffic is convenient. It is close to Gao Lan Station of Metro Line 7, and it is easy to get to the city center. Wuning Road is not far from Cao Yang Road, and you can take a bus directly out of Shanghai on Cao Yang Road. As a result, the population is increasing. The rental business is booming. A room is hard to find. Many old lands (aborigines) here have become landlords directly, and their income is not cheap.

According to the information visited by the inquiry, Hongqi Village has both the asset base of local villagers and the collective assets of the village, and the ownership relationship of the business entities is complex (involving collective enterprises, private enterprises, state-owned enterprises, regional and municipal enterprises, etc.). ). As mentioned above, there are still a large number of group rents ... At the same time, there are still 83 dormitory buildings in this plot that need to be retired and resettled. Therefore, the renovation began from 20 13, and it was not until 20 15 that the relocation began gradually.

20 15 10 3 1, the fruit wholesale market here was officially closed, and later, it became famous (or cursed? Tongchuan Road aquatic products market has also come to an end, the mighty relocation and environmental improvement have officially begun, and Hongqi Village has also completed its mission and disappeared into the long river of history, leaving no memory.

A year later (20 16), I came to "hongqi village" again. Almost all of them were demolished, leaving only the ruins of one place. Two years later, large-scale buildings and shops mushroomed.
