What is your sincerity?

The two most feared words in the world are "persistence" and "intention". The word persistence itself is already dazzling. Persistence coupled with hard work is what shines brightly. When I participated in the writing of Hao Bao in the last issue, I was shocked by Lion's article. Now, as the days go by, my laziness is quietly brought out again. Some of the 50 articles are perfunctory to myself. Articles that I don’t even dare to submit. It's like having guests come over but your house is too messy to welcome them.

Why do I write? I have thought about this question, should I treat it as a daily pastime? Think of it as cleaning your heart? Just to complete the 500 words per day? No matter what the reason is, one thing that should be certain is that you must invest your true feelings and your own intentions. I know that what I know and learn is limited, just like my own house. Even if it is not a splendid mansion, if it is cleaned and decorated with care, the thatched house still has its own character. This is sincerity. Persevering in writing is like insisting on cleaning. Writing with heart is like decorating your home with care. Be attentive, just like cleaning the invisible places, and carefully select every accessory in your home, so that you can welcome guests with peace of mind when they visit.

What is attentive is that the chef carefully treats every step and detail of cooking, and the writer carefully considers every word and creates it as a work of art. It is the stroke that the artist ponders over before he writes. It’s the light, color, shadows, chiaroscuro and emotion that the photographer has already considered before pressing the shutter button. It is the tone that musicians practice over and over again just to become more smooth and accurate.

Persevere with your heart, and those gains should be yours, because your name is written on it. I once read in my sister’s article that one of his friends is a literary and art lover trapped in a cubicle. He likes poetry and songs, and is obsessed with the hairpins and makeup described in the lines and the boudoir fashion hidden behind them. So she worked diligently during the day, and spent her nights and weekends studying relevant classics and materials. Over the past few years, she made several large volumes of notes. Her perseverance and professionalism are impressive. Not long ago, she resigned from her job. In addition to her monograph, she also opened a small shop, selling her own perfume powder and hand-designed hairpin rings. She had worked hard and studied it, so her things were naturally sincere and natural. Don’t worry about the source of customers. This can be said to be done carefully, not casually.

I also remember the scene in Dream of Red Mansions where Xiang Ling learns poetry from Dai Yu. She "stood hard to study poetry", and she "busily combed her hair at dawn and went to find Daiyu to change her poems." She also dreamed of writing poems at night, which shocked Baochai. They were all thinking about how to compose poetry. The sisters called her the "Poetry Demon" and made fun of her, but she did it as she always did. After many times of consultation and many revisions, I finally "gathered my energy and blood" and finally wrote a "new and interesting" poem about chanting the moon. Her level of study can be described as attentive. If she just talks casually and doesn't practice, and doesn't try to figure it out, she won't be able to learn how to write poetry, and she won't be able to be appreciated by Daiyu and other sisters.

Today I saw Li Shanglong writing that many people envy him for his intelligence, ability to become a freelancer, and his successful transformation into a director and writer. But no one knows that he goes to bed at three o'clock every day, and after getting off work every day, his colleagues turn on the TV, he turns on the computer, they watch programs, he codes, they drink wine, he drinks coffee, they prepare to sleep, and he prepares to stay up. A movie every day and a book every three days. The notes were written in a thick notebook, and there were more than ten notes in the notebook alone. So, do those who are careful have many notebooks filled with notes? If so, then my notebook is not even half full yet.

Everyone wants to do something with their heart and learn something, but there are many times when they work quietly but no one cares. In the future, I hope that persistence and hard work, the four words, will always be by your side. Only by being sincere can you show your sincerity in doing things.
