How to shoot active squirrels with animal photography skills?

Canon EOS 700D focal length 50 mm shutter 1/400 seconds

Aperture f/ 1.8 ISO 400

(a) Immediate shutter entry prerequisite (S mode/TV mode)

I usually meet squirrels, just in time, and I don't have much time to prepare. Once I encounter it, I suggest making these settings immediately:

1. Go to shutter prerequisite (S mode/TV mode).

2. Raise the shutter to at least 1/200 seconds.

3.ISO may be higher. Considering the brightness of the environment at that time and the maximum aperture of the lens, ISO400 or above is recommended.

4. continuous shooting or solo shooting is also acceptable.

5. Single-point focusing, focusing on squirrels accurately

(2) Adjust the composition angle

Try shooting at the level of squirrels, just like shooting other animals. Sometimes I even have to shoot on the ground.

(3) Find a clean background

Squirrels are usually small and get scared when they get close. Therefore, if you want to highlight the little squirrel, you can find a clean background. With a large aperture (f/ 1.8 aperture as shown above), the shallow depth of field effect can be better utilized.

After reading the above three tips, I hope I can successfully capture the lovely side of squirrels next time I meet them!
