On the top of Malan Mountain, the mist fills the air, and the immortal Malang lives here. He cultivated a beautiful Malan flower. At the foot of Malan Mountain, there lived his father Wang, his wife Aunt Wang, and two daughters who looked alike. Sister Dalan likes to relax and hates work. Xiao Lan, a hard-working and kind sister, really wants to see Malanhua on the top of the mountain that mortals have never seen before. The old man felt sorry for his daughter. For the sake of his daughter's request, he braved hardships and struggled to climb, and finally came to the top of Malan Mountain to witness the strange light of Malanhua. Due to excessive excitement, the old father accidentally slipped and fell off the cliff, but fortunately he was rescued by Ma Lang. When Malang learned of his father's purpose, he happily gave the flowers to his father. The father-in-law tree debunked Ma Lang's intention to borrow flowers to ask relatives and friends. Dad came home and asked his two daughters about their intentions. Dalan felt that Shan Ye was poor and refused politely, but Xiaolan accepted the flowers with shame. After Ma Lang and Xiao Lan got married, they worked together and lived a happy life. Soon, Xiaolan went home to visit relatives with a generous gift, which caused her sister's jealousy. Da Lan listened to the rumor that a black-hearted wolf turned into an old cat and cheated her sister out of her clothes. The old cat pushed Xiaolan into the lake and took Malanhua away. Then, under the threat and inducement of the old cat, Dalan tried to cheat Ma Lanhua from Malang. Dalan gradually realized the ugly face of the old cat and deeply regretted being cheated. She finally confessed her true feelings to Malang despite the intimidation of the old cat. Tight encirclement was laid in Malan Mountain, and this black-hearted wolf disguised as an old cat finally died under the stick. Malang saved Xiaolan with the magical power of Malanhua, and the husband and wife were together again. This film won 1962 Best Artist Award in the first film Hundred Flowers Award.
