From 1925 to 1927, Shanghai established 140 small and medium-sized film companies. Guangzhou, Beiping (now Beijing), Tianjin and other cities also made films. 1928, after the star company started shooting "Burning Red Lotus Temple", a martial arts film craze was formed.
