Why do many car owners choose 360-degree panoramic images?
1. What is a panoramic image?
Panoramic camera is a car safety configuration. Cameras around the vehicle simultaneously collect images around the vehicle and transmit the images to the image processing unit. After a series of image processing, the panoramic top view around the vehicle is finally formed and displayed on the screen, which intuitively presents the position and surrounding conditions of the vehicle.
Second, the composition of the 360-degree car image
Generally speaking, the panoramic image has four cameras, one in front of the car, one in the parking space and one under the mirrors on both sides. Used to collect the images of the front, the blind area on the side and the rear of the car.
Images need to be transmitted to the processing chip and image processing unit for processing, because these cameras all use fisheye wide-angle cameras to ensure a large field of view, and the captured images are somewhat distorted and need geometric correction. Then the same point in the image is processed by software, and the overlapping area of the image at a specific angle is accurately integrated to present a 360-degree panorama.
Third, the advantages of panoramic images.
Eliminate blind spots
Ordinary cars have A/B/C pillar blind area, front/rear blind area and rearview mirror blind area. These blind spots will make you unable to see obstacles and lead to scratches. The 360-degree panoramic image eliminates the possibility of being invisible in blind areas and ensures the safety when driving and reversing.
Record the situation
Some panoramic cameras also have a video storage function, which can store the surrounding videos when parking and driving. In this way, you can get strong evidence of being scratched while parking and being hit by porcelain while driving.
4. What mode is generally used for panoramic images?
Generally, they are equipped on larger and taller models like SUVs, which is determined by the characteristics of SUVs themselves. The SUV has a high chassis, a higher sitting position, a good line of sight inside the car and a wider field of vision. On the other hand, the SUV has a larger body size, and the departure angles of the front approach angle and the rear are also larger than those of the car, so it is larger than the car in terms of blind spots, such as the areas in front of the vehicle, the rear of the vehicle, the side of the AB pillar and the area outside the rearview mirror.
Panoramic imaging technology is very practical and has a strong sense of science and technology, but its cost performance is not high. In fact, radar can completely replace images, but radar gives people a sense of insecurity, and car owners who are used to images are still easy to worry about. At the same time, there is still no way to monitor the blind spots on both sides. Now the camera and electronic processing components are not as expensive as before, and the matching price of reversing images is getting lower and lower, which is really a cost-effective configuration.
