The difference between meticulous painting and sketch

There are three differences between meticulous painting and sketch: painting types, painting skills and painting tools;

First, there are different kinds of paintings.

1, meticulous painting is a unique painting method with a long history in China. It belongs to the type of China's classical painting and pays attention to the shaping of lines. Even without grandiose decoration, it can well show the form of subject and object.

2. Sketch is a painting method of western schools, which pays attention to the alternation of light and shade between subject and object, and shapes the texture and characteristics of subject and object through multi-level superposition.

Second, the painting skills are different.

1, meticulous painting generally needs to make a small draft before formal painting, and then outline it in a large area with Gou Xianbi Jr., and then smudge it with ink layer by layer. After many revisions, a painting can really be completed.

2. Sketch can be drawn directly on paper with a light pencil, then find the boundary between light and dark, draw a large area, and finally depict the details, and a work can be completed.

Third, painting tools are different.

1, meticulous brushwork is usually done by Gou Xianbi. This kind of brush has a thinner nib than ordinary brushes, and is suitable for depicting details and sketching shapes.

Sketch is usually done with pencil or charcoal. In order to express the sense of volume of still life, people often draw the bright side of the object with a shallow pencil, and draw the dark side of the object with a deep pencil or even charcoal pen, thus widening the gap and improving the contrast.
