How to shoot a good video with iphone?
1, use exposure locking
The camera of iPhone will automatically set the shooting focus and exposure. This is very good for taking photos quickly, but it may make video shooting more complicated, especially when the subject is the subject, it will be constantly adjusted and refocused, which may distract the photographer.
Fortunately, you can use Lock Exposure and Focus in native camera applications. For example, when shooting a person, just click and hold their face. You will see a box and a yellow bar with "AE/AF lock" on it. Once started, the iPhone will maintain consistent exposure and focus throughout the video.
2. Don't zoom in.
With the built-in zoom function of iPhone, the lens can be placed on a subject, but it is best to avoid this situation in almost all scenes. Unless you have a device with a dual-camera camera module (such as iPhone 7 Plus), zoom is not optical zoom-it is just digital zoom, which will lead to pixelation of video and make it look bad.
A better and more reliable choice is to make your iPhone closer to your subject. At this time, both images and audio will be better. If it is not convenient to get close, you can always go to the accessories market to check the telescopic zoom lens. The result may not be perfect, but it is much better than ordinary scaled video.
3. Use third-party video applications
This is also an optional option, but it may have a great impact on the quality of your recorded video. Apple's built-in camera application is very good, but it lacks some depth control in some third-party applications, such as adjustable camera resolution and code rate and manual white balance control.
Users will have a range of choices, from advanced applications such as Filmic Pro to free ProMovie video recorders. It should be pointed out that these third-party applications are not necessary for shooting beautiful videos, but they will expand the options and control you have.
Step 4 use a bracket
Strong jitter is enough to destroy a video, which is one of the most obvious differences between professional video and amateur home shooting. Although the optical anti-shake effect of iPhone is very good, it is difficult to cope with strong vibration. Fortunately, this is not a big problem, it can be solved with a tripod. There are many tripods for smart phones on sale at present.
If you want to shoot a moving shot, for example, along a main body in the street, you can use a hand-held stand to record video easily and stably while moving. Many options on the market are very cheap, and the difference between shooting with or without a hand-held bracket is just like the difference between night and day.
Step 5 pay attention to the light
Light is very important when shooting video, especially when shooting on smart phones. Although the iPhone camera is very powerful, the video quality will be greatly affected in the case of poor light and insufficient light, which is a problem existing in all smartphone cameras.
Your best practice is to shoot outdoors or in a well-lit environment. If the light is bad, don't rely on the flash of the iPhone, but choose an external lighting accessory for the camera. These accessories may be expensive and usually require a little learning cost, but the difference will be very obvious. If your budget is limited, you can make a lighting accessory yourself. In the worst case, you can take the iPhone to the window and make good use of the sunshine.
Step 6 Use a separate microphone
Even the most amazing video may completely affect the video quality because of poor audio. Fortunately, this problem can be easily solved by using an external microphone. If you are close enough to the main body or source of audio, then the microphone of iPhone is very suitable. Otherwise, the surrounding environment and the sound of the room will often drown out the audio.
Another simple trick is to use another iPhone to record audio. You can even use the native voice memo application to do this. You just need to add a recording during the editing process. Professional tip: clap your hands at the beginning of each shot, so that you can synchronize audio and video at the back through a simple reference point.
7. Edit on Mac
Although there are some good video editing applications to choose from on iOS, desktop software is still easier to use and can produce more powerful effects. If you have used a separate iPhone to record audio, it will be easy to synchronize recording and video.
Users have no shortage of choices. The range can be professional and expensive industry standard software, such as Adobe's Premiere Pro, or free and amateur-oriented applications, such as iMovie. With correct editing and some basic editing skills, all these options can make beautiful homemade movies and videos, and everything can be easily realized.
Other tips
Choose landscape shooting. Few people like vertical video.
Switch iPhone to airplane mode-you don't want to be interrupted by notifications or calls from time to time.
I like still image photography, so I suggest to shoot by three-point method. Most video recording and camera applications have built-in grid options to make shooting easier. You can go to settings > photos and cameras > this option is located in the grid.
Bring an extra charging treasure. iPhone consumes a lot of power when shooting videos.
