Shooting methods and skills of stage photography

Stage photography is different from other types of photography, such as relatively fixed position, changeable lighting, unrepeatable actions of actors and so on. In the choice of photographic equipment, it is best to choose a digital SLR camera. Compared with the card-type digital camera, the digital SLR has a larger photosensitive element area, and can get a relatively fine image even with high sensitivity. So, here are the techniques of stage photography that I share with you. Welcome to read and browse.

Prompt 1: Turn off the flash manually.

The stage lighting is well designed and has a high brightness. By improving the sensitivity, a set of good shooting parameters can be obtained, and a clear image can be taken by hand without a flash. I use Canon EOS 400D digital SLR camera, EF 70-200 F2.8 lens. Common shooting parameters are ISO400 and F2.8, and the shutter speed can reach1100s or more.

Of course, the stage lighting will not be the same as the brightness of the studio lighting, but the changeable color and brightness is the charm of the stage lighting. Friends who use consumer digital cameras need not be nervous. The image quality of ISO400 digital camera is still acceptable, and it is worth exchanging a slightly worse image quality for a relatively clear image.

Tip 2: Choose a slightly different shooting angle.

Stage photography is still mainly about shooting people, so shooting from the side will get more pleasing photos. Usually we choose the front 30? ~60? Shoot from this angle. Most actors are used to holding the microphone in their right hand, so shooting on the actor's left side can better prevent the microphone from blocking their faces.

Tip 3: Choose the right shooting angle.

Not all pictures are suitable for shooting from the side, and some solemn or symmetrical scenes are still suitable for shooting from the front. Backlight or large LED can be used as the background to shoot a magnificent feeling. Singers and dancers will also interact when shooting concerts, and the final collective modeling is also suitable for frontal shooting.

Tip 4: Pay attention to the grasp of the moment.

One of the characteristics of stage performance is? Dynamic and static combination? Even a dynamic martial arts performance needs a short static appearance moment, which is the essence of the program and one of the most worth seeing pictures. A short pause is more beneficial for us to use a slower shutter to get a clear image.

Tip 5: Use wide angle appropriately.

Many friends always like to use the longest focus of the lens when shooting stage portraits, especially when shooting their idols. This is of course no problem in the case of good lighting conditions and high shutter speed, but in the case of poor lighting, the photos taken by hand-held cameras are easy to blur, leaving only regrets. Instead of this, it is better to use wide-angle end. Although the proportion of people in the photos has decreased, the images can be seen clearly on the computer. If it is convenient to walk around the venue, you can also choose to shoot at a longer distance.

Tip 6: predict in advance that the program will take up space.

At the end of some large-scale parties, the host will invite all the actors to take photos with the guests again, which has almost become an unwritten rule. When you heard the host invite all the actors to the stage, it was too late to seize the favorable terrain. Some experienced photographers have occupied the most favorable terrain and set up long guns and short guns. Did they watch this program? Maybe they just rely on experience. Generally, the last program of a large party will end with a chorus. When you see the solemn chorus, you must be prepared to seize the position.

Summary:

Stage photography has attracted countless photographers and fans with its colorful lights, smoke and scenes, wonderful performances by actors, and left precious moments for their idols or wonderful performances. In order to get high-quality photos, we can use some skills or experience:

1. In order to get a good sense of the scene, you should turn off the flash. Even if the flash is used, it is generally difficult to play a role because of the long distance.

2. Use higher sensitivity. Do not use ISO 100 or lower to get a good image. When is the high sensitivity? You know, a photo with rough quality and clear image is much more valuable than a photo with fine quality and blurred image!

3. Choose the shooting angle according to the subject. You can take more close-ups from the side and more panoramic or stable photos from the front stage.

4. When shooting with a hand-held camera, it is easier for a wide-angle lens to obtain a stable image than a telephoto lens at the same shutter speed. When the lighting conditions are not good, you can use the wide-angle section of the camera to shoot.

Occupying a good position is sometimes more important than photography.
