Watch "The King of Shanghai"
I personally admire dark heroism, so after watching "Shanghai King" twice from beginning to end, I couldn't help but want to write a review.
First of all, most of the conflicts in this movie originate from the heroine Xiao Yuegui, and the slightly more powerful men in the movie - Song Shoubei, Chang Ye, Huang Peiyu, Yu Qiyang, and Mr. Lu all have feelings for her. Admiration, this is in line with the psychology of popular women.
Secondly, it is a story that takes place in a relatively complicated political background. There are three forces in the country: the Qing Dynasty, the concession, and civil organizations. There is a scene where foreigners wearing white wigs and officials from the Qing Dynasty sit in the high hall to judge cases, which means that China at that time had lost its judicial power, so the power of the concession should not be underestimated.
The first thing at the beginning of the film is that Song Shoubei wants to arrest Huang Peiyu from the Tongmenghui, but Master Chang is secretly protecting him. But Mr. Chang has not met Huang Peiyu for a long time. At this time, Little Yuegui was wearing coarse clothes and serving tea to the guests in the brothel while accompanying the big-footed girl's discussion. Song Shoubei took a fancy to her and wanted to buy her first night with a gold bar. But she took out the scissors, meaning she would rather die than obey. Just when she was about to stab herself to death, the so-called dramatic appeared. Mr. Chang appeared domineeringly and held the tip of the scissors with his hand.
So when you make a choice for your life, the world will reflect your choices in the world.
And the women of the black boss are usually different from other sexy bitches. I have never seen the cast before watching this movie, but when the big-footed girl dares to confront the old madam, , I am basically certain that this is the heroine, so can I say that even the big screen cannot do without these old routines?
Bringing it back, from a character perspective, this also reflects from the side that Mr. Chang is not a loyal fan of the feudal dynasty. Not only did he have contact with the Tongmenghui, he also married a girl with big feet, and had a clear relationship with the representative. The feud between Song Shou and the government forces became deeper and deeper.
Later, Song Zhi captured Xiao Yuegui and wanted to rape him. From this, we can see his despicability. He actually tried to vent his anger about his career failure on a teenage girl, and wanted to use rape to satisfy the imbalance in his heart.
At this time, Huang Peiyu appeared handsomely in a windbreaker and sunglasses and rescued Xiao Yuegui. Apparently he was trying to get close to Master Chang, but he also laid clues for the subsequent story between him and Xiao Yuegui.
As the story continues, Song failed to rape him and attacked Master Chang again. Master Chang couldn't bear it anymore and ordered to kill without mercy.
In fact, Song was seeking death here. After agreeing to reconcile, he took action against Mr. Chang. A person with such a high position had such a narrow heart, and early death was an inevitable result.
This is also true in modern times. The boss should look like the boss. He has no capacity and no bottom line. He will collapse just like wearing a dragon robe.
But after Chang Ye defeated Song Dynasty, Chang Ye also indirectly encountered the plot of Huang Peiyu, who was close to him, and died tragically on the street. This big twist is enough to shock the audience. Less than half way through the movie, the first generation Shanghai King died.
Next, Huang Peiyu became the second generation King of Shanghai by her own means, and cooperated with foreigners and became powerful. The conflict with the Republic of China government came again because she had become the heroine of Boss Xiao. Ah Qi and Mr. Lu sent flowers to Xiao Yuegui after the performance. However, Mr. Lu, according to his arrogant and domineering character, directly let people kick A Qi's big flower basket away. A Qi kicked people away without knowing his background. Hit. Then he went to find Huang Peiyu. Huang Peiyu didn't even raise his head after hearing that he had beaten Mr. Lu, and just asked lightly what happened. Later, when he heard the appearance of Xiao Yuegui, he straightened his back. Although it was the back of the character, the camera sense and language still portrayed the importance of Xiao Yuegui to this new generation of Shanghai King.
One thing worth appreciating about this movie is that the plot is compact, with not a single superfluous scene or a superfluous word. Several lines develop simultaneously, gripping the heartstrings. The acting skills of the actors are also passable.
On the rooftop, Xiao Yuegui was wearing a cheongsam and smiling. She walked towards Huang Peiyu. She was indeed very charming. Huang Peiyu said concisely and concisely that she wanted Xiao Yuegui to still be the woman of the King of Shanghai. Xiao Yuegui did not answer directly. He just stared at Huang Peiyu.
The camera turned to several concise scenes of how Huang Peiyu dotes on Xiao Yuegui, in a way that no woman can resist.
When I saw this, I couldn’t help but sigh, how important a positive attitude is. Little Yuegui is equivalent to a newlywed and widower, and then she gave birth to a child with strength and raised it for others, and then went back to the countryside to study Kunqu Opera. She passed away and is still able to accept the love of her ex-husband's subordinates to this day. Her mentality is worth learning.
In terms of plot, the jealousy of Huang Peiyu’s third concubine is again involved, but the focus is to lead to the improper relationship between the third concubine and Mr. Lu, which is also the trigger of Mr. Lu’s death.
Before Mr. Lu died, he told his father very eloquently that I wanted to marry Xiao Yuegui
His father said that you are not far away from death
This is considered A foreshadowing.
But he was really dead. General Lu was so angry that he directly arrested Huang Peiyu himself after framing the murder.
It was originally a dead end, but Huang Peiyu himself felt that he was about to die, but instead felt very relaxed. He said that he just wanted to have a good sleep.
He even relaxed enough to tell Xiao Yuegui the cause of Chang Ye's death. I don't know if he underestimated Master Chang's importance in Xiao Yuegui's heart, or overestimated his own importance in Xiao Yuegui's heart, or simply because he didn't understand Xiao Yuegui.
But I think that the fact that he can still feel guilty about this matter to this day shows that he is a very conscientious person. He also personally pushed down the murderer who really killed Mr. Chang. A tall building, but he still couldn't let go.
But he didn't expect that it was because of this that he actually died.
The enemy's bullets are still in the open, but the plotting of those around you is the most deadly. Especially a woman who is close to me, whom I love, and who is very dignified.
The final ending can be said to be what the audience expected. Xiao Yuegui pretended to be kidnapped and appeared alone in a wheat field during the ransom, looking embarrassed and with her hands tied. Huang Peiyu approached alone, slowly took off her hat, took off her glasses, and carefully observed Little Yuegui before she breathed a sigh of relief. But just as she took the first step, what might have been a heartwarming scene suddenly heard a loud roar. Startled. As for why this method was used, I think it was to ensure that Huang Peiyu died without a complete body.
Master Chang was a hero of his generation, but he died in the arms of Xiao Yuegui on a rainy street. This made Xiao Yuegui, who had just gained everything because of Master Chang, heartbroken. As painful as it was at that time, the hatred for Huang Peiyu was as deep as it was.
The third generation of Shanghai King is undoubtedly Yu Qiyang. Xiao Yuegui even gave him Master Chang’s sword, but that is the story of the second part.
I'm looking forward to it.
