How to play the lighting in the studio in different situations;

1. The main light of the main light source is the main light that illuminates the model and shapes the character image in portrait photography in the studio. The main light determines the distribution of the bright and dark areas of the whole character. Whether it is soft light or hard light, the main light has strong directivity, and its light level determines the light effect of the photo. Therefore, in the lighting link, even if there is a small change in the position of the main light and the distance from the model, it may affect the sunshine and even the overall effect of the photo. The main light is the priority factor, and the auxiliary light should be consistent with the tone of the main light. In most portrait photography, the main light is represented by a soft box. The addition of soft light and hard light is more uniform and easy to control. 2. Auxiliary light, as its name implies, is a light source that supplements the dark or shadow parts in the picture. Its existence maintains the balance of light in the picture and avoids excessive contrast. The brightness ratio of main light and auxiliary light is called light ratio. The brighter the auxiliary light, the smaller the light ratio of the picture. The irradiation direction of the auxiliary light is mostly near the axis of the digital SLR camera, so as to avoid a large deviation from the irradiation angle of the main light and make the picture produce chaotic projection. Auxiliary lights are mostly soft. 3. Effect light The main function of effect light is to emphasize the theme, modify the human body or cover up defects. Profile light can better highlight people, generally projecting from 150 degrees to 170 degrees in the opposite direction, thus forming bright contours on the side hair, face, shoulders and trunk of people. Compared with the application of contour light and other effect lights, it can highlight people more effectively and increase the artistic expression of photos. 4. Background light The light source used to illuminate the background alone is called background light. The function of the background light is to separate the camera from the background, so as to better represent and highlight people and increase the three-dimensional sense of the picture. Background light only illuminates the background. Generally, one or more flashlights alone complete the task of creating night light. Background light can control the brightness of the background. According to the needs of shooting, the background light can be soft light or hard light. Soft light is mostly used to create a pure background with relatively high brightness, while hard light is mostly used to create a fashionable and avant-garde facula background. In order to set the background light, the model should keep a certain distance from the background when lighting. It is necessary to use the background light to make the main image laugh and purify the background, thus increasing the appeal of the picture.

5. Light ratio

In portrait photography in the shed, two flashlights or two flashlights plus several reflectors are often used. Therefore, there is often a clear difference between the light intensity of the bright and dark sides of the figure. The light intensity ratio of the light and dark side of the figure becomes the control of the light ratio, which can create a more auspicious effect when shooting. After the light distribution is completed, the light ratio of different light receiving surfaces of the model can be measured conveniently with an exposure meter.
