The credits of The Last Love

The film started shooting on September 30, 2006, and completed the domestic shooting part in Japan on October 27. Then the crew went to New York, USA, and started a week of overseas shooting on November 2.

There is a scene in the film where the protagonist acts as a tour guide and takes tourists on a double-decker sightseeing bus. The film crew specially rented a number of buses from the bus company for filming. On the second floor of the bus, Tamura Masakazu and the extras were sitting, as well as the photography, recording, director and other staff. The equipment was placed on the first floor, and other staff were also on standby here. There was also a woman from the bus company who stayed on the second floor to supervise the filming. As soon as the bus started moving, the woman shouted to stop. Everyone thought there was an accident, but after asking, they found out that the company stipulated that all passengers on the second floor must be seated when the bus starts. But filming was different from usual. The staff sometimes had to stand up. The staff explained the situation to the woman and took her downstairs. Unexpectedly, after the bus started moving, she screamed again. It turned out that she saw the photographer standing up on the second floor through the glass window of the building on the roadside. As a result, the scene was shot and stopped in an unexpected "difficult environment" and was completed intermittently. In addition, the film crew also rented the bar "STONE ROSE" on the third floor of the Time Warner Center for filming. The art department set up a stage in the store, put in a grand piano, and turned the bar into a jazz nightclub. A group of professional jazz musicians were selected from local auditions to perform live.

After seven days of filming, the film will see Lincoln Center, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Chelsea area, the Time Warner Center and the entire Central Park. Masakazu Tamura plays a saxophonist who loves jazz. The producer only asked him to pretend to play, but Tamura himself hoped to actually play the saxophone and collaborate with Japanese and American musicians on the same stage. And in his opinion, only by truly learning to play can one understand the way of thinking of this character who loves the saxophone deeply. Therefore, the film crew specially arranged for Japanese jazz master Jiro Inagaki to give lessons to Tamura.

At the end of March 2006, Tamura picked up the saxophone for the first time in a music studio in Tokyo, and then took lessons once a week. Inagaki Jiro was full of praise for Tamura, saying that he was quite talented and made rapid progress. There are 6 scenes of playing the saxophone on the spot in the film. Tamura must learn 4 songs. If you add the variations, there are 6 songs. This task is not easy. Unfortunately, Tamura will be filming a TV series from May to September, so he can no longer take music lessons. He can only seize the time to practice in between work. Before the filming of the movie started, Mr. Tamura only had 8 lessons with Inagaki, but he had basically mastered each piece.
