Portrait shooting focus

When shooting portraits of people, we will first observe the facial contour and skin texture of the task, and then decide what kind of light to create what kind of tone to highlight the texture of this texture, so I call the skin texture, the tone of the picture and the mood of the characters the black and white portrait trilogy.

Whether men or women, when taking portraits, they should put the texture of the skin in the most important position, especially black and white photography. Black, white and gray, which looks so simple, will show the characteristics of the model well, so I will observe the angle of the model's face well before shooting and create the skin texture of the model with light and shadow suitable for him.

Of course, if you want to highlight the skin texture of a character, you don't always hit the face with very hard light, which will cause a large highlight area on the model's face. So when I shoot black-and-white portraits, I will use constant light or semi-soft light such as umbrellas and radomes, which will make the model's face get uniform illumination and ensure better details of highlights and shadows.

Beat note

Tone is also a very important factor in black and white portrait works. We can make the model and the temperament of the work fit together through the expression of timbre. Generally, we can divide black-and-white photography into high-profile and low-profile. So we usually choose the so-called high and low key according to the inner temperament and image of the model. Usually, when you are calm and restrained, you will choose low-key shooting, while publicity and cleanliness can be expressed by high-profile. Of course, sometimes I will do the opposite, so that the characters' personalities, images and colors collide. Sometimes the works are more shocking than those designed in advance, so it is very important to deal with the details, whether high-profile or low-key.

Character emotion

Grasping the characters' emotions comes from your1125 seconds. This is my1125 seconds, not the shutter speed. Pose makes me very disgusted with the stiff expression and limbs of the character, which is empty and boring. Although the snapshot will ignore some details, it has always been my admiration for the concept of photography. I usually tell the model to press the shutter one second before or after the countdown to 3 seconds or when it feels in place, instead of making it ready to wait for the moment of 3,2, 1, because experience tells me that at that moment, he must be dead, which is totally meaningless. Although I also teach you how to pose in my course, I actually hope that you can observe the aesthetic feeling and visual feeling brought by the lines and angles of the characters, rather than posing for the sake of posing.
