The Xia Ying is adapted from the story of Huang Chuping, a legendary figure in the Eastern Jin Dynasty, a common people in Hui Ze, and a chivalrous man in the Jianghu. Huang Chuping's deeds were first seen in Biography of Immortals edited by Ge Hong, a scholar in Jin Dynasty. His deeds of preaching justice and benefiting the people are widely circulated among the people. In the south of China, Huang Chuping is honored as Wong Tai Sin.

Behind-the-scenes team, Feng Zhiping, the artistic designer of the play, won the Best Art Design Award in 2003, and the costume designer won the Dragon and Tiger Award at the Vancouver International Film Festival. Photographers Jiang and Wu Longji were members of the Taiwan Province Photographers' League.

Shooting process

In July 2004, the blur was officially launched. The play was jointly filmed by Hengdian Group Film and Television Entertainment Co., Ltd., Shanghai Oriental TV and Jinhua Municipal People's Government, and was filmed in Hengdian Film and Television City. During filming, director Ju Jueliang will personally ask about the production of props, the makeup of extras and other technical work. In order to create the Wei-Jin style in the play, the crew paved all the indoor shooting sites of Hengdian Qinwang Hall, Qingming Shanghetu and other scenic spots with solid wood floors, and the patterns have also undergone historical textual research. In August, the play ended shooting.
