What is the use of barium ore?

Barium ore has a wide range of uses, mainly used in electronics industry, ceramics industry, fireworks industry, oil exploitation, barium lead glass and so on.

1, electronics industry

Barium is used as getter to remove trace gases in vacuum tubes and picture tubes. For example, Ba-Al-Ni getter is a typical evapotranspiration getter, which is widely used in various power light-emitting tubes, oscillating tubes, camera tubes, picture tubes, solar collector tubes and other devices.

2. Ceramic industry

Barium carbonate can be used as ceramic glaze.

3. Fireworks industry

Barium salts (such as barium nitrate) are bright green and yellow when burned, and are often used to make fireworks and signal flares.

4. Oil exploitation

Barite powder, also known as natural barium sulfate, is mainly used as weighting agent for drilling mud of oil and natural gas.

5. Ba-Cu-O superconducting materials

Barium ore can be used to make barium-copper-oxygen superconducting materials, which has important applications in power transmission and magnetic resonance imaging.

6. Barium lead glass

Barium ore can be used to make barium lead glass, which is widely used in optical instruments and photographic lenses.
