Hometown Shandong? Xintai Huanghualing Reservoir

Photographer maple leaf likes to shoot birds. He shared with me a bird hunting place, which is Huanghualing Reservoir in Tianbao Town, xintai city. From my home 120km.

It was late when I left home. After getting off the highway, I walked along the 244 provincial highway. On both sides of the road are valleys and dense forests, which seems to be a scenic spot. Sometimes a resort hotel will pass by the roadside, which looks good. There are few vehicles and almost no people on the road, which is somewhat desolate.

According to the stop and go of navigation, navigation misled us to a village, which was a potholed dirt road, getting narrower and narrower, and finally there was no way to go. There was no one around at that time, so we had to get off and ask someone in the village for directions. Finally, we met a villager who wondered why we went to Huanghualing Reservoir but came to their village. According to the direction he pointed out, I continued to walk a dirt road. The more I walk, the more I panic. At this moment, I met a villager. He pointed out the road for vehicles to pass again. After crossing an equally rugged path, the reservoir finally appeared in our sight. Huanghualing Reservoir has a large area, and there are a group of Bai Niao jumping from time to time on the water in the distance. Those must be egrets.

Start from the village on the west side of the reservoir, cross the levee of the reservoir and reach the west bank of the reservoir.

There is a big umbrella next to the west bank reservoir. A man is fishing with a hat and a fishing rod. There is another person chatting with us by the lake. He said that the fisherman is a millionaire and likes fishing, so he was hired to wait on him to fish. Some people say that egrets are much less this season. Birds usually gather in the Woods on the other side. Let's go to the Woods in the morning.

Driving around the reservoir, many egrets danced on the reservoir. It was the afternoon when the sun was setting. The lake was sparkling and the warm light of the sun covered it. An egret bird stands on an island, opposite to the egret bird on another island across the lake, which is overgrown with reeds. This photo is warm and beautiful.

We approached these birds quietly, but their vigilance was too high. Every time we approach them, they scatter.

There is a meadow to the north of the lake. A white goat is grazing on the grass, and no one is around to look after it. When the goat saw us, he looked up at us curiously. The sun's reverse light shone on him and made his ears red.

The longest focal length of my SLR camera lens is 70-200, and Mr. Bense's is 80-400. They are not professional bird catching equipment, so I had to stroll around the lake and take some photos of egrets from a distance, and the sky slowly darkened.

I had planned to stay on the nearby Tianbao Town, so that I could come to the reservoir to shoot the sunrise and egrets tomorrow morning. When the car passed by Tianbao Town, I also saw a hotel on that street, so I took a photo of the hotel with my mobile phone to contact the hotel. But look at the distance from the lake to the egret bird, and then look at your own photographic equipment. I feel that coming back tomorrow may not necessarily catch a closer bird. The two men discussed it and decided to leave for home. When the equipment is ready, they will come back to Huanghualing Reservoir earlier than the current season!

Tip: When shooting egrets, you must have professional bird shooting equipment, and the focal length of the lens should reach at least 600.

Huanghualing Reservoir in Tianbao Town is a beautiful place. If you look at Tianbao Town near sunrise and sunset, there is a place to stay.
