At present, how many pixels are the highest in the camera, and how much is enough for ordinary people.

1. Up to now, Hasselblad H6D-1c has the highest pixel in the household field, with 1 million pixels; In the professional field, the highest pixel of the camera is the Swiss seitz camera with 16 million pixels; In the field of national defense science and technology, the Pan-STARRS astronomical camera system with the highest pixel is MIT, with 1.4 billion pixels; Of course, this does not include cameras in the military field with high security level;

2. The pixel is absolutely proportional to the resolution. The higher the pixel, the higher the resolution, which means the larger the size that can be enlarged.

3. Pixel is in relative direct proportion to definition. The clarity of digital imaging is closely related to the signal-to-noise ratio of sensors, lens quality and image processor technology. As far as pixels are concerned, pixels are photosensitive points built on the sensor. Under the premise of the same pixels, the larger the sensor area and the smaller the pixels per inch, the larger the area of a single pixel, the better the photosensitive performance, the better the signal-to-noise ratio index and the better the definition. On the contrary, the clarity will be worse. Therefore, the higher the pixel and the lower the density on the sensor, the higher the definition, while the higher the pixel but the higher the density on the sensor, the worse the definition, which is relative;

4. "How much is enough for ordinary people?" Everyone has different standards.

first, different sizes of magnification require different pixels. For example, a large commercial photo (above 5MX5M) needs at least 2 million pixels to support, while a 7-inch photo at home has more than 4 million pixels, and the extra pixels cannot be developed;

second, different carriers need different pixels to display photos. There are generally three kinds of home digital display carriers, one is a computer monitor, the other is a digital photo frame, and the third is a television. Among the popular home display carriers, a 192X18P display needs more than 2 million pixels to display photos perfectly (one photosensitive element on the display corresponds to one pixel, and 18P only has more than 2 million photosensitive elements, which can only display more than 2 million pixels, and the extra pixels cannot be displayed on the display); The 4K display of 384X216P needs more than 8 million pixels to display photos perfectly; With the development in the future, the emergence of 6K, 8K or even higher resolution displays requires higher pixels;

thirdly, because the photos taken may be artificially cropped for some reason, the pixels needed are different. Assuming that the information of photos is evenly distributed in the photos (actually, it is uneven, with more information in the center), the 16-megapixel photos are cut off by half, and the remaining half can still be perfectly displayed on the 4K display; Assuming that the photos taken are full-body panoramic photos of people, only 1% of the pictures are intercepted and watched on the 4K display, then the photos taken by the Hasselblad H4D6 camera with the second highest pixel are still insufficient pixels and cannot be displayed perfectly;

5. As the sensor area is generally fixed, in home cameras, the top-end is the medium-frame camera, the high-end is the full-frame camera, and there are more half-frame cameras, others include the 4/3-inch sensor, the 1-inch sensor, the 1/2.3-inch sensor at the lowest end, etc. The ratio of the sensor area to the number of pixels must be considered for the clarity of imaging, which is the signal-to-noise ratio theory in digital imaging. On the basis of ensuring the number of pixels necessary to display photos or enlarge the size, the higher the signal-to-noise ratio (the smaller the pixels per inch), the better the definition, and the higher the total number of pixels, the larger the enlarged size. How many pixels are enough can be determined according to your own needs;

6. "How much is enough for ordinary people?" Personally, I think that as long as it is not easy to cut off half of the pictures, 16 million pixels is more than enough for photos of 4K display equipment.
