So it doesn't seem to be an excellent argument to use the term "dead angle" to avoid using the fork equator. It's a bit funny to say, but my guess is that this phenomenon is mainly caused by the "polar axis" before the return of Halley's comet, with few homophones and few astrophotography. In the view of homophones, the polar axis of "dialing" alignment is quite accurate.

Since the introduction of P-type magnetic declination meter in Gao Qiao, it is expected to become the equipment of German magnetic declination meter year by year, and even fork-shaped magnetic declination meter can not be exempted from purchasing such accessories. A few years after the early equatorial instruments such as P-2, TS-90 and Mark-X from Taiwan Province Province entered Taiwan Province Province, Halley's Comet will return, and some people will know the polar axis correction method such as "scale method". Even if they are interested in doing it, it is not necessarily that they can't find the required scale on the equatorial plane. It's not very accurate anyway.

In addition to easy installation of the polar axis, it also allows the polar axis to be longer. Relatively speaking, the equatorial plane of commercial fork needs to be installed outdoors, which increases the possible error, and its short polar axis is also a difficulty in mechanical construction.
