Is installation art a folk art?

The knowledge system of China's art history was established in the 20th century. In the past, the tradition of art history in China was mainly calligraphy and painting. After the reform and opening up, there have been more categories such as folk art, photography, contemporary art and installation art, which shows that installation art is an artistic expression, not folk art.

Installation art refers to the artist's artistic and effective selection, utilization, transformation and combination of material and cultural entities that have been consumed or not in human daily life in a specific time and space environment, thus deducing a new art form that shows the rich spiritual and cultural connotation of individuals or groups. Simply put, installation art is a comprehensive exhibition art of "site+material+emotion".
