What's the difference between CT and CR? Say it briefly.

1, the difference in meaning

CT, or computed tomography. Is to scan one slice after another around a certain part of the human body.

Computer X-ray photography (CR) is the first digital technology applied to radiography, and it is an advanced technology formed by the combination of computer digital image processing technology and X-ray radiography technology.

2, the difference in use

CT is used for the diagnosis of central nervous system diseases, head and neck diseases, and CT examination of heart and great vessels, abdomen and pelvic diseases; CT plays an important role in nondestructive testing and reverse engineering of modern industry. CT equipment can also be used for security inspection, air transportation, port transportation and detection of large cargo container equipment.

CR is mainly used to display bone structure, articular cartilage and soft tissue, detect mediastinal structures such as blood vessels and trachea, and calcium-containing lesions such as pulmonary nodular lesions, intestinal pneumatosis, pneumoperitoneum and stones, and CR is used for cross-sectional scanning and film-based comparative examination.

3. Differences in imaging principles

CT uses X-ray beam to scan a certain thickness layer of human body. X-rays passing through this layer are received by the detector, converted into visible light, converted into electrical signals by photoelectric conversion, converted into digital by analog-digital converter, and input into a computer for processing.

CR is based on the original diagnostic X-ray direct film imaging, through A/D conversion and D/A conversion, the image is digitally processed in real time, and then the image is digitized.
