What are the items of autism identification in Dalian Seventh Hospital?

1. The Childhood Autism Rating Scale (CARS)

is used by professionals when evaluating children. Each of the 15 items in this scale is graded into seven grades according to .5 on a scale of 1-4, with 1 being normal and 4 being the most serious. The total accumulated CARS score ≤29.5 is normal, and the total CARS score is 3-36.5 is light-moderate.

2. EEG or brain topographic map

The abnormal rate of EEG examination is 1%-83%, which is quite different due to the different interpretation standards and selected samples of general EEG. Generally speaking, the more leads, the higher the abnormality rate. People with abnormal EEG are generally those with low IQ. The more obvious the IQ damage, the higher the probability of abnormal EEG and epilepsy. However, about 2%-4% of children have epilepsy before puberty, and there may be no abnormality in EEG.

3, CT and MRI

MRI examination results show that the total area of brain stem and pons in some autistic children is smaller than that in the control group of children of the same age, and the median sagittal area of vermis VI and VII in cerebellum is 19% smaller than that in the normal control group. It is suggested that cerebellar dysplasia may be related to some autism.

4. SPECT single photon emission computed tomography

SPECT can detect cerebral blood flow. SPECT detection of autistic children found that cerebral blood perfusion was abnormal, and the positive rate was 75%. Mainly in the cerebral cortex, cerebellum and subcortical structures, concentrated in the frontal and temporal lobes of the cortex, with the left frontal lobe being the most common. At the same time, the regional blood perfusion in hippocampus decreased.

5. brainstem auditory evoked potential

The brainstem auditory evoked potential of autistic children is abnormal. Anomalies are reported from I---V waves, and the anomaly rate is as high as 2%-6%. It shows that children with autism have hearing defects and the conduction time of brain stem is prolonged, suggesting that the change of brain stem function may be one of the reasons affecting autism symptoms. The dysfunction of brain stem will lead to the damage of the transmission pathway to the brain, which may be one of the reasons for the abnormal development of cognitive, social and language abilities of autistic children.

6. Other examinations

Chromosome analysis, intelligence test and other examinations are selected as needed.

These are the general conditions, and the doctor will choose the identification items according to the situation of the child.
