General situation of China Song Art College of Guangdong Ocean University

Zhongge Art College was jointly established by Guangdong Ocean University and the National Song and Dance Troupe (formerly China Song and Dance Troupe) in September 2003, and is a second-level college of Guangdong Ocean University. Professor Zhou, President of China Higher Education Association and former Vice Minister of Education, unveiled the Zhongge Art College and praised this school-running model as a pioneering work in the history of higher education in China.

The college has four majors: choreography, musicology, art design and performance, and the direction of choreography and teaching is 16. In 2007, there were 1872 students, with nearly 20,000 square meters of modern art teaching building, high-standard dance rehearsal hall, art model training stage, large chorus hall, instrumental music practice hall, art design studio, lacquer painting studio, pottery studio, clothing studio and photography studio.

In 2005, at the invitation of the organizing committees of China-ASEAN Expo and Nanning International Folk Art Festival, the College sent 22 students to perform at the opening ceremony of China-ASEAN Expo and Nanning International Folk Art Festival.

In 2006, the Academy, the National Song and Dance Troupe and the Zhanjiang Municipal People's Government jointly held a large-scale cultural performance of "Singing and Dancing Zhanjiang", and the performance of "Ocean Night" was a great success.

In 2006, at the invitation of Nanhai Fishery Administration and Fishing Port Supervision Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Guangdong Ocean and Fisheries Bureau, our institute performed a large-scale song and dance "Ocean Praise" at Zhongshan Memorial Hall in Guangzhou to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the promulgation and implementation of the Fisheries Law, which received a strong response.

In 2006, our college and Guangdong University Student Employment Guidance Center held a special performance for graduates in Yunshan Hall, Guangzhou. Two performances, "We Are Young" and "Hand in Hand", were widely praised by leaders of provincial departments such as the Organization Department of Guangdong Provincial Party Committee and the Education Department of Guangdong Province, as well as leaders of universities and media in Guangzhou.

In 2006, at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture, the institute sent 32 students to attend the celebration party of the fifth anniversary of the establishment of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the opening ceremony of the art festivals of member States. After the performance, Tian, head of the National Song and Dance Troupe, called our hospital to express his warm congratulations. As a representative of the actors, Ma Bin was cordially received by General Secretary Hu Jintao.

In June, 2007, at the invitation of the Guangzhou Military Region Soldiers Art Troupe, the Academy sent 67 students to represent the General Staff of the China People's Liberation Army to participate in a large-scale cultural performance held in Hung Hom Gymnasium to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the return of Hong Kong.
