A meaningful and graceful poet Guo Yongxiu

-Night interview with Guo Yongxiu, a famous Chinese poet and musician in Singapore.

He is of medium height, elegant in speech, eloquent and endless. He has a pair of golden glasses on his high nose, and his eyes are shining behind them. This is Mr. Guo Yongxiu, a famous Singaporean China poet, musician and photographer.

On the evening of July 24th, the reporter came to his hotel, met Mr. Guo Yongxiu who was attending the China-ASEAN Literature Forum in Kunming, and had a face-to-face conversation with him. Mr. Guo, 68, was born in Guangdong Province and went to Singapore with his parents when he was a child. He is a former lecturer in electronic security and technology at Singapore Institute of Technology and Education. Proficient in Chinese, English, Chaozhou dialect, Minnan dialect and Cantonese.

He is currently honorary president of Singapore May Poetry Society, director of Writers Association, consultant of Composers Association, vice president of Musicians Association, music director and conductor of Sing Tao Choir and Galaxy Folk Chamber Orchestra. He has served as a judge of literary and artistic creation, music creation, instrumental music and vocal music competitions at home and abroad in Singapore. He is good at writing poems, lyrics, composition and photography, and can integrate various arts into visual arts and multimedia.

Six poems, prose 1 piece, music review 1 piece and song 1 piece have been published. Many poems have been selected into textbooks and poetry dictionaries of middle schools and universities in Singapore and abroad.

Regarding poetry, Mr. Guo has always advocated that poetry is solvable, but everyone's views and understanding can be different. Even if the poet himself has his own intentions and ideas when writing, after publication, readers can make different conclusions according to their personal views and understanding. The language of poetry is full of ambiguity, which is the charm of poetry. For me, poetry is not only a beautiful vocabulary, a philosophy of warning the world, but also a product of the collision, communication and integration of mind and everything. Must have connotation, poetic, let a person read for a long time.

Throughout Mr. Guo's poems, he recorded his own mental journey and the wonderful time he spent with his poetry friends. His poems wander between realism and modernism. His poetic style is meaningful and elegant, with a wide range of materials and unique personal style and charm. The content covers family, friendship, love, current affairs, tourism, photography, painting and other fields. He said that because of poetry, everyone came thousands of miles to meet; Because of poetry, everyone has become the most sincere friend; Because of poetry, everyone has found the meaning of life, so his latest collection of poems is named Because of Poetry.

Mr. Guo Yongxiu not only has high attainments in literature, but also has great talent in the field of music. He said that when I was in primary school, there was a little girl who influenced my life with her piano. But she doesn't know. Even today, we haven't met again. Now, in retrospect, decades later, the sound of the piano still clearly echoes in my ears, just like that year, full of dreamy colors and reluctant attachment. It was my first contact with music and my first experience of the beauty of music. From then on, I decided that when I grow up, I must have a piano and learn to play it. No one in my family has ever worked in music. My father only wants me to study hard and doesn't support me to learn musical instruments. Many of my musical instruments, such as flute, erhu and organ, were studied at the home of a good friend Zuo Jie near my home. I didn't have my first piano until I could stand on my own feet and make money by myself. And that girl named Xiubin, she will never know, because her piano has influenced my life. I am a stranger to her, and she is no stranger to me. She and her piano sound always impress me.

Years, in the rumble.

Break into a wisp and float with the wind.

Light smoke, sometimes thick and sometimes light.

Mr. Guo has high hopes for the World Chinese Literature Exhibition Hall of Yunnan Literature and Art Museum. He said that it is necessary to carry forward and inherit the excellent traditional Chinese culture, respect the literary creation style of the host country, China, build the exhibition hall into a platform for Chinese people to exchange China culture, and promote the exchange and development of China literature in the world.
