1953, in order to find the legendary revolutionary traditional education base, Kim Il Sung chose Baitoushan Tianchi and the border between China and North Korea. At that time, Tianchi belonged to China. After receiving Kim Il Sung's request, Mao Zedong generously agreed to give half of Tianchi, Sala Island and Satin Island to North Korea.

During the honeymoon between China and North Korea, the DPRK sent personnel to China to ask for a corner of Tianchi, saying that Tianchi was the birthplace of the great general Kim's revolutionary cause, hoping that China could understand the deep proletarian feelings of the Korean working people, and so on.
