Changbai Mountain, the first mountain in Northeast Asia.

Changbai Mountain is the highest mountain system in Northeast Asia, and Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain is the highest and largest volcanic lake in China and the deepest inland lake in the world. Changbai Mountain has been an unshakable sacred mountain for many nomadic people in the north since ancient times, and it is also the most dangerous intermittent volcano on the earth.

Changbaishan Tianchi

Tianchi Lake in Changbai Mountain, also known as Baitoushan Tianchi Lake, is the boundary lake between China and North Korea, and the northern part of the lake is in Jilin Province. In ancient times, Changbai Mountain was originally a volcano. According to historical records, it has erupted three times since16th century. When a volcano erupts and spews a lot of lava, the crater forms a basin. After a long time, the accumulated water became a lake, and it became the Tianchi Lake now. Because of its high position and water level of 2150m, it is called "Tianchi".

Tianchi is oval with an average water depth of 204 meters. It is said that the depth of the center is 373 meters. There are 16 peaks around Tianchi, just like a jasper embedded among the peaks. The water in Tianchi overflowed from a small gap, flowing out about 1000 meters, and poured down from the cliff, becoming the famous Changbai Mountain Waterfall.

Besides water, the Great Tianchi Lake is a huge rock. There was no life in Tianchi Lake, but in recent years, a cold-water fish-rainbow trout has appeared in Tianchi Lake. This kind of fish grows slowly and has delicious meat. Visiting Changbai Mountain is also a great pleasure.

Changbai Mountain Waterfall

Changbai Mountain Waterfall is located on the northern slope of Tianchi Lake, at the end of Chengcha River. After crossing the Chahe River to 1.250 meters, it flies straight down, forming Changbai Waterfall as high as 68 meters. Because it is a beautiful place in Changbai Mountain, it is named Changbai Waterfall. Silver flow seems to fall from the sky, and the sound of landing is like thunder.

At first glance, it looks like an inclined ladder because of the steep mountain slope and fast current. There is a boulder at the mouth of the waterfall called "Niulangdu", which divides the waterfall in two. Two jade dragon-like water columns bravely rushed to the protruding stone beach and the deep valley, splashing waves several feet high, like a goddess scattering flowers, filled with water vapor and fog.

The waterfall is like a white practice, falling from the sky, thunderous, like a jade dragon rushing to the bottom, and its scene is very spectacular. The rapids fell into the water, and after thousands of years, a pool about 20 meters deep was formed under the waterfall. The pool water flows out and flows into Erdaobai River.

Changbai Mountain Julong Hot Spring

Julong Hot Spring in Changbai Mountain is the largest, most widely distributed and highest temperature hot spring in Changbai Mountain, and it can be called the first spring in Changbai Mountain. It is located 900 meters north of Changbai Waterfall, under the rockfill pile in the north of Roby Peak. Distribution area 1000 square meters, Erdaobai River passes through the middle of Wenquan Group.

On the right side of the river, there are dozens of springs and seven big springs. Numerous heat flows gush out from the ground, just like a dragon spraying water, hence the name Julongquan. Julongquan has become a famous spring in Changbai Mountain because it is large, abundant and hot, which makes many climbers bathe and taste the most natural and pure first spring and water.

Because of the high water temperature, bubbles keep popping up in Julongquan, and eggs can be boiled. Tourists often stare suspiciously at the eggs put into the spring. Soon, the eggs are cooked, and the taste of mineral water is very strong and the taste is excellent.

small tianchi

There are two small Tianchi lakes 3 kilometers north of Changbai Waterfall. One is hidden in the quiet Yuehua forest, at an altitude of 1, 780 meters. The lake is circular, with an area of 5380 square meters and a water depth of 10 meter. The lake is green. About 200 meters away from Xiaotianchi, there is also a circular pool with the same size as the previous one, but the water is very shallow, only a few meters deep, and sometimes it dries up, revealing yellow mud.

Small Tianchi, like an emerald gem, is embedded in the continuous middle section of Taihang Mountain, with strange peaks, rugged rocks and dense forests. Being in it is like floating in green waves. Looking up at the sky like mottled jade, overlooking the earth, pine needles and fallen leaves pile up like carpets, and every step makes you feel the ancient mountains and distant years. Xiaotianchi Scenic Area is therefore praised by experts as "one of the greenest places in the middle of Taihang Mountain".

Lvyuantan

Lvyuantan is located in Yuehua forest landscape belt, named after its green water. Lvyuantan Waterfall plunges down, with the highest drop of 26 meters. The waterfall fell on the boulder and gradually flowed into the deep pool. Every time it is foggy, the water mist permeates the pool, which is in harmony with the mountains of Yuehua. There are two small waterfalls on the cliff above the water surface of Luyuantan, adding more scenery.

Changbai mountain in winter

They all say that "ten miles is different from the sky." When you come here, you will understand the real meaning. Entering Changbai Mountain in September, it is already the season of snowflakes fluttering.

In the cold winter, the phenomenon of different days in ten miles is more obvious. On the mountain ridge dozens of meters away, the cold wind is like a knife, the blizzard is like a curtain, and the whistling north wind blows directly at the rocks, exposing young trees. In the mountains dozens of meters below, there may be children in the mountains, making snowmen and having snowball fights with thick mud.

The winter sky here is particularly charming. Under the reflection of pine and green and white, the sky looks so blue, so thorough and so close. People here don't seem to live on the ground, but in the sky.
