Iceberg melting photography
This situation is not an exaggerated appeal to protect the environment, but the rapid rise of sea level is indeed happening. Scientists' explanation for the melting of Antarctic glaciers is that global warming has led to the gradual thinning of the Antarctic ice shelf and even a tendency to break. In recent years, there have been many incidents about the collapse of the Antarctic ice shelf. In Antarctica, for example, icebergs the size of almost a state have melted, and the melted water flows into the sea. But global warming is not the only factor. Antarctic glaciers are losing too fast, and there are unknown factors. So what are these unknown factors?
Some scholars speculate that there is an unknown heat at the bottom of the Antarctic, which is constantly roasting the Antarctic ice layer and accelerating the melting of glaciers. Under such a thick ice sheet in Antarctica, melted water gathers together to form hidden lakes and rivers. According to statistics, the ice cover area can reach 1.372 square kilometers, which is equivalent to the area of two Australia. Huge ice sheets are located on these hidden lakes and rivers. Where does this unknown heat come from?
The unknown heat we are talking about comes from the mantle plume inside the earth. Hot rocks come up from the mantle and successfully collect heat in the cooled crust. The mantle plume emits abnormal heat and is gradually melting the bottom of the huge Antarctic ice sheet, just like setting up a stove under the ice sheet. Climatologists at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory have made new discoveries by analyzing and studying seismic images.
They noticed the anomaly of Mary Bird in southwest Antarctica. Below Mary Bird is mantle thermal rock, and the heat is different from other areas. However, the seismic image is fuzzy, and meteorologists can't get concrete proof, so they can only take this theory as a speculation. In order to prove the correctness of this speculation, climatologists decided to use computer models to input all physical data of Antarctica, including movement, height change, friction, melting speed, etc., and then use computers to simulate them. The simulation was carried out dozens of times before the result was obtained. The results show that the heat flowing out of the ground thermal column is extremely high. If compared with the mantle heat in the Philippines volcanic area of the United States, it can reach three times that of the whole Philippines volcanic area of the United States, and these abnormal heat accounts for 75% of the underground thermal mantle heat output of Huangshi super volcano. So what kind of influence does this heat have on Antarctica?
It is because of this heat that the speed of Antarctic ice melting will accelerate. According to the calculation, the ice in the area directly above the hot spot melts very fast, reaching the level of melting several centimeters per year. These melted waters converge into lakes and rivers hidden under the ice sheet. These lakes and rivers have caused the melting of Antarctica. As lubricants, they make those warm water and ice flows enter the ocean at a faster speed, mainly in the southwest pole. Antarctic glaciers are melting abnormally. What should we do to stop them?
In the past, for the sake of economic development, we had to burn a lot of fossil raw materials to promote industrial development, which did great harm to the environment. Facing the current situation, we should adhere to the concept that "Jinshan Yinshan is not as good as green mountains and green hills" and make contributions to slowing down the loss of Antarctic glaciers. We can reduce the use of private cars and learn to live a low-carbon life. At present, China is studying the use of new energy. If the new energy can be successfully used, the burning of fossil fuels will be greatly reduced, the carbon dioxide content will also be reduced, and the speed of global warming will also be reduced, which will help slow down the melting of Antarctic glaciers.
Do you have any suggestions for slowing down the melting of Antarctic glaciers? I am waiting for your answer in the comments section.
