Summary of cat nest shooting

I recently got a job shooting cat nests. The requirements are not very high. Basic application of e-commerce

The summary of this shooting is mainly on the use of light, and some ideas will be mentioned later. Lighting configuration is as follows:

Shenniu DP 1000II

Standard cover one

A big white flag

White reflector

A number of props background cloth.

Nikon Quan Huafu plus 24-70 lens

The picture below is a sketch of my first lighting.

The effect of this lens is as follows.

For the effect of the first cloth, summarize the following shortcomings:

1. This painting is very boring. Although it is semi-backlit and tonal, the subject and background are not separated, so the whole picture lacks three-dimensional sense and looks dull!

2. The cloth below is too conservative and monotonous. Although pure white can foil the main body, flat pure white cloth is too boring!

3. Lack of accessories to interact with kittens, and lack of agility and liveliness in the environment.

Some improvements have been made to the above shortcomings:

1. Because the light is scattered and the wall is on fire, a black flag is added behind it to block the light!

I brought a blanket or something for the background color!

3. Create a little home life with some little dolls and pictures!

The second light distribution diagram is as follows:

The effect of the second lighting shoot is as follows:

There are three summaries about this shooting incident:

1 single lamp adopts semi-inverted top light distribution mode, which can ensure that the edge contour of the main body, especially the kitten, has profile light first, and then shadows appear in front to enhance the three-dimensional sense of light and shadow!

2. After the white flag is softened, it is a kind of scattered light, so don't worry that the subject is not exposed. In addition, the diffuse reflection of the white reflector in front enhances the shadow in front and adds eye light to the cat!

3. The black flag must be used to block the light scattered on the wall, enhance the sense of depth and make the picture more stereoscopic!

A summary of the later period

1. Because I have taken nearly 300 pictures in total, I am used to using Bridge as a primary screen, and I will type 1 star when I look at it!

2. Import Linghtroom and make some basic adjustments, including sharpening the white balance tone, properly enhancing the black field, appropriately brightening the shadow to enrich the tone, and dimming the highlights to prevent overexposure of the highlights!

3. Sharpening I used a pixel radius of about 1.5 to improve the texture of the subject. The sharpening value depends on my feeling!

4. In order to ensure the efficiency of drawing, I will import Photoshop to make adjustments unless I encounter special circumstances. The fastest way is to collect Nik! filter

5. When retouching in Lightroom, there will be a second screening. After proper adjustment, mark it with 2 stars, and then export it uniformly!

Views on lens selection;

The focus is good. Although I use a focal length of more than 50mm most of the time, if I need a small wide angle to create a certain effect, I don't need to change the lens, and each 24-70 lens has its own housekeeping skills, which is no worse than the general focus, so I use this lens most of the time!
