She quickly found her husband and said with great anxiety, "These flowers and lamps are really pleasing to the eye. However, flowers are everywhere and lamps cost a lot of money. Those of us in high positions are not easy to detect those who have been watching us. If we have preferences, we will fall into their trap. We should always do things respectfully and speak carefully. Lin Zexu felt that his wife's words were very reasonable, and immediately let people take off all the palace lanterns and orchids. Since then, Lin Zexu has been more rigorous in his life and never pays attention to novelty. On the contrary, he went deeper into the grassroots, understood the sufferings of the people, and did more good deeds and practical things for the people.
