CLANNAD Introduction Noun Overview
CLANNAD is a text adventure game (AVG) released by Key in 2004. Different from Key’s previous games, this game is based on It was released as an all-ages PC version, ported to PS2 for sale in 2006, and launched on PSP and XBOX360 platforms in 2008. The manga version is serialized in a monthly magazine called "Monthly Comics".
In addition, based on "Tomoyo Sakagami", a popular heroine in CLANNAD, Key released another game called Tomoyo After (Tomoyo アフター~It's a Wonderful Life~) in 2005 AVG is prohibited under 18.
In the word CLANNAD, Clann means "family" in Celtic language. As the name suggests, this game paints a beautiful picture of family love for us. It is a game that touches people's hearts and makes people cry. From a production point of view, the game’s voice actor lineup can also be described as “luxurious”.
Key later announced in 2007 that CLANNAD would be adapted into a TV animation. Following "Kanon" and "AIR", the animated version of "CLANNAD" will still be produced by Kyoto Animation. The TV animated version of "CLANNAD", "Kanon" and "AIR" are known as Key's three masterpieces. The animation was broadcast on TBS on October 4, 2007.
CLANNAD’s TV version of the animation season 1 ***24, the animation voice actor except the male protagonist Okazaki Tomoya (the earliest PC version of the game has no voice actor, PS2, PSP, XBOX ported version and 2008 The fully-audio version released in February has dubbing (except for the male protagonist), and all the original voice actors of the game are used.
Because the game content of CLANNAD is too huge, it cannot be condensed into 24 episodes (22 episodes + 1 extra episode + Tomoyo episode), so the 23rd episode of the TV version of the animation finally released a special announcement: "The End of the World, Full of sad tones. "CLANNAD~After Story~" is in production. "CLANNAD After Story" was officially broadcast on October 2, 2008. (***22 episodes + 1 extra episode + 1 summary episode + apricot episode)
In addition, the theatrical version of CLANNAD produced by Toei was released in Japan on September 15, 2007, and The DVD was released on March 5, 2008 (the voice actor of the male protagonist in the theatrical version is different from the TV animation version).
CLANNAD(クラナド) CLANNAD story introduction
We took steps together...
On this long...long slope...
Family...the place where I was rejected: Clannad’s male protagonist, Okazaki Tomoya, is a person who refuses to communicate with his family and refuses to stay at home. When he was young, his mother died for some reason...and his father drank all day long to relieve his sorrow. The two people who were supposed to depend on each other became estranged from each other because they were unwilling to understand each other's pain, and their lives gradually became decadent. Finally, when he was in junior high school, the relationship between father and son hit rock bottom due to an incident of domestic violence. From then on, Tomoya and his father were strangers, and the relationship between the two seemed to be maintained only by blood and law. He goes to school every day, but whether in class or after class, he is just in a daze, and continues his student career all day long. He does not participate in any club activities and has no close friends. Even the only "friend" who can talk to him intimately and "take in" him every night, Haruhara Youhei, cannot touch the frozen part of his heart... They do not interfere with each other. The pain deep in their hearts is the bottom line that ensures that the two of them can continue to come and go together. The years passed ruthlessly, and the time that seemed to have stopped beside Tomoya was about to come to an end... right under that long slope.
The meaning of CLANNAD
[1] Celtic language, a local language in Scotland, its meaning is family.
CLANNAD is the abbreviation of the Celtic phrase "clann as D" (CLANN + A + D).
In Celtic languages, "clann" means "family", and "as" means "from" or "out of" in English. Many understandings of the meaning of CLANNAD do not differ between these two places. The difference mainly comes from the last letter D.
There are generally two opinions:
1. D is the initials of Dobhar, which is the name of a Celtic town and is used here as a symbol of the town.
2. D is the initial letter of Dango. Dango is the first letter of the Roman pronunciation of the Japanese word "dango", which is used here as the symbol of dango.
These two opinions can develop two similar but different meanings. One directly means "small town family", the entire town is a family, and the other means "tuanzi" "Big Family", and the Tuanzi Big Family symbolizes various families in the entire town, as well as the big family in the town itself.
Of course, no matter what kind of explanation, it cannot be separated from the core concepts of "town" and "family".
