2. Hurricane

This is a film about racial discrimination in America. Ruben Carter, the black boxing champion, was framed by the police and spent 30 years in an unjust prison. After many twists and turns, the story of Light in the Day was rediscovered. This film criticizes and analyzes racial discrimination in the United States. The director's position is quite commendable. He did not simply criticize the discrimination of whites against blacks. He also tried to convey a message that not all whites have racial prejudice, and whites and blacks should talk rather than oppose each other. Moreover, the director is not a boring sermon, but expresses his views through the plot and the vivid performance of the actors. Some parts are quite touching.

Ruben Carter, the black boxing champion, seems to have a natural grudge against the police. At the age of eleven, he was sent to a reformatory school (equivalent to a reeducation-through-labor camp for juvenile offenders in China). Later, he escaped from prison and became a soldier, practicing boxing hard. He was so beautiful in the boxing ring that he beat all his opponents. A boxing champion should have a high social status, but he still can't escape from prison. He was framed by a corrupt policeman and sentenced to three life imprisonment (American law is so interesting, to add simply, unlike our country, where a crime is sentenced to ten years, b crime is sentenced to eight years, and the two crimes are combined for fifteen years, which can be discounted. A young black man was deeply moved after reading Reuben's autobiography and decided to help Reuben clear his name with several white friends. It may be that the director is too focused on the characterization of the characters and his own political demands, and some plots are worthy of scrutiny. Prison is not as dark as some prison movies describe. A prison guard even became friends with Reuben, and the warden seemed to take special care of him. Another annoying place is the "Hollywood Cheers" at the end. Looking at many Hollywood movies, as long as they succeed in the end, there will be scenes of collective cheers, and sometimes cheers are even meaningless. After learning the news of Reuben's release, all the prisoners in the prison cheered like Christmas-these people don't have to! And after 30 years in prison for nothing, even if the grievances are cleared, is it a victory? But on the whole, these shortcomings are hidden, and this film is still a masterpiece.

Among the black actors, my favorite is samuel jackson, whose sword is biased. Although Denzel Hayes Washington Jr. was the best actor, he didn't leave a deep impression until he saw the film. In this film, he successfully created the role of Ruben Carter, and his acting skills should not be underestimated. After he was sent to prison, he refused to wear prison clothes. It was a wonderful passage, but the performance of his inner conflict when he was locked up and the drastic change of his inner mood after meeting his friends were very vivid-it was often difficult to express his inner emotions. He has a very subtle understanding of the prisoner's psychology. How does he adapt to prison life? Nothing wants, nothing wants. Only in this way can the mind feel free. This interpretation is very vivid. Denzel Hayes Washington Jr. has been preparing for this film for two years, practicing boxing seriously and striving for the success of the performance. In the end, his efforts were not in vain. He won the Golden Globe Award for this film.

3. Hot summer nights

In the southern United States, along the Mississippi River, there is a small town called Spett. This small town is small and poor, and racial discrimination is very serious. Colbert, a great entrepreneur in Chicago, came here to recruit workers and set up factories to help the town get rid of poverty. Unexpectedly, he was murdered on a very hot summer night, and his 900 dollars disappeared.

Spett's public security situation has been relatively calm for many years, and this unexpected murder left gayles, a police officer who had just been in office for two days, at a loss. He assigned police officer Sam to search for the suspect. When Sam came to the railway station, he saw an unpleasant black man and found that the black man had a lot of cash on him, so he arrested him indiscriminately. Unexpectedly, this young black man named Tibbets has a wide network of contacts. He is an elite criminal policeman in Philadelphia in the eastern region, and this time he is visiting his mother in his hometown.

Because of the complexity of the case, gayles had to turn to Tibbets for help, although he looked down on blacks in his heart. Just then, police officer Sam caught a young man named Harvey again, and found the package of the deceased and 300 yuan cash on him. Sheriff gayles arbitrarily identified Harvey as the murderer. However, Tibbets believed that the murder was based on the condition of the victim's wound. With the deepening of the investigation, the sheriff unexpectedly found that his man Sam went to the bank to deposit 600 dollars the day after the murder. This time, the sheriff put the murderer's hat on Sam's head again. Tibbets dismissed this and explained to Sheriff gayles that there was another murderer. Gayles was stubborn. He was dissatisfied with Tibbets and even ordered him to leave here immediately, and he was not allowed to intervene in the case. Because of the appearance of Tibbets, the racist black forces in this spartan town were very angry, and they threatened that "this nigger will not live until Sunday". One day, Tabes went out to do business and was suddenly attacked by four white youths. Fortunately, the police chief gayles arrived in time, and Tabes was saved from assassination.

Tibbets didn't leave because of this, and still tried to collect clues to solve the case. Just then, a young man named Purdy came to the police station and accused Sam of raping his sister and getting her pregnant. Tibbets felt very strange and decided to start with this matter and open the gap in the murder case. Tibbets found a black woman who specializes in illegal abortion in the town and went to visit her immediately. After some conversation, the black woman told Tibbets that Purdy's sister would come to have an abortion at night, and the man who got the girl pregnant would come with her. While talking, Purdy's brother and sister broke in, and Ralph, the owner of the snack bar. Comparing the clues collected before, Tibbets suddenly understood that Ralph was the murderer he wanted to catch.

Tibbets told Purdy the truth, and Purdy jumped on Ralph angrily. Ralph shot and killed Purdy, and he finally got caught. Ralph confessed his crime at the police station, and the whole case came to light. At this point, gayles, the police chief, admired Tibbets deeply and personally put him on a distant train, which was his greatest sincerity.
