Take a montage photo with multiple exposures.

Lead: Using multiple exposure shooting technology, two or three photos can be synthesized, that is, two or three photos are taken separately, and then the camera will automatically synthesize these photos together to form a montage effect picture, giving people a novel visual experience.

Use multiple exposures to shoot montages. What is multiple exposure?

Up to now, only EOS 5D Markⅲ Ⅲ has added the multiple exposure function in Canon cameras, which supports the synthesis of 2~9 photos, that is, taking multiple photos separately, and then the camera will automatically synthesize these photos through different calculation methods.

Multiple exposure menu in Canon EOS 5D Markⅲ Ⅲ

This menu is used to control whether it is enabled or not. Multiple exposures? Function, and whether you can operate the camera during shooting after enabling this function.

In shooting menu 3, select? Multiple exposures? election

Selection of speed control panel? Multiple exposures? election

Turn the speed dial to choose whether to enable this function and the recording method after it is enabled.

? Close? Select this option to disable? Multiple exposures? Function.

? Open? Function/Control: Selecting this option will allow menu viewing and playback during multiple exposures.

? Open? Continuous shooting: When this option is selected, you can't view the menu, play back, display and confirm the image in real time during shooting, and you can't save the image in a single exposure. This option is more suitable for multiple exposures of dynamic objects.

Multiple exposure control

In this menu, you can choose the algorithm for synthesizing multiple exposure photos, including? Addition? 、? General? 、? Bright? 、? Darkness? Four options.

Shooting menu 3? Multiple exposures? Yes, choose? Multiple exposure control? election

Turn the speed control dial to select the control mode of multiple exposures.

? Addition? Select this option, and the photos of each exposure will be superimposed.

Choice? General? Option, the result after taking two photos.

? General? Select this option to automatically control the exposure of the background every time you take a single exposure photo to obtain a standard exposure result.

? Bright? Select this option to keep the bright parts of the multiple exposure results in the photo. For example, when shooting the moon, select this option to get a picture of Zhang Mingyue hanging high above the night scene.

Clear photos 1

Using manual focusing, the virtual second photo is taken intentionally without selecting the focus.

? Darkness? What is the function of this option? Bright? The option is just the opposite. When shooting, you can keep the dark parts in the results of multiple exposures.

time of exposure

In this menu, you can set the exposure times of multiple exposure shooting, and you can choose 2~9 photos in EOS 5D Markⅲ Ⅲ. Usually 2~3 exposures can meet most shooting needs.

Tip: The more exposure times are set, the more noise will be generated in the synthesized picture.

Save the source image

Here, you can set whether to save a single photo with multiple exposures to the memory card.

? All images? When this option is selected, the camera will save all the single exposure photos and the final composite results in the memory card.

? Only results? Select this option to save only the final composite result, not a single photo.

Continuous multiple exposure

In this menu, you can set whether to reuse. Multiple exposures? Function.

? Only 1 sheet? Select this option, and the multiple exposure results will be automatically closed after completion.

? Continuous? Select this option to keep the multiple exposure function on until the photographer turns it off manually.

Multiple exposures using photos in the memory card

In Canon EOS 5D Mark III, users are allowed to select a photo from the memory card, and then make multiple exposures by shooting, and the selected photo will also occupy one exposure.

? ? For example, when the number of exposures is set to 3, in addition to the photos selected from the memory card, two more photos can be taken for the synthesis of multiple exposures.
