Zheng Zhilong with complicated background.
Speaking of the international background of Zheng Chenggong's family, of course, we should first talk about Zheng Chenggong's father Zheng Zhilong, because Zheng Zhilong's background is very complicated, so it can be said that even in modern times, it will exceed most people's imagination.
Zheng Zhilong was born in Quanzhou, Fujian. His father, Zheng Shibiao, once worked as a small official in Quanzhou. However, due to family difficulties, when Zheng Zhilong 17 years old, Zheng Shibiao asked him to take his two younger brothers to Macao to take refuge in his uncle Huang Cheng who was doing business there. At that time, Macau was actually occupied by the Portuguese, so Zheng Zhilong learned Portuguese to make a living. Moreover, in order to gain the trust of the Portuguese, he also joined the Catholic Church and got a Portuguese-style Catholic name called Nicholas Iguaan gaspard (Nicholas.
Izumi gaspard).
During his stay in Macau, Zheng Zhilong met Li Dan, a maritime merchant living in Japan at that time. Later, with the consent of his uncle Huang Cheng, Zheng Zhilong went to Nagasaki and became Li Dan's staff. This year, he was only 19 years old. After arriving in Japan, he soon married the daughter of a local overseas Chinese-Emperor Weng Xu. However, although this girl comes from an overseas Chinese family, she is the daughter brought by the overseas Chinese's Japanese wife when she remarried to this overseas Chinese, so the overseas Chinese's daughter is actually Japanese, and her biological father's surname is sometimes called Tian.
So when you see this, you will know that before Zheng Chenggong was born, Zheng Zhilong actually had at least three national backgrounds. After marrying Tian 1 year, Zheng Chenggong was born in Nagasaki, Japan. Therefore, Zheng Chenggong is indeed a mixed-race Chinese and Japanese born in Nagasaki, Japan. Two years later, Tian gave birth to Zheng Zhilong's second son, that is, his younger brother.
Before and after this, Zheng Zhilong was first sent by Li Dan to the Dutch who invaded Taiwan Province Province at that time as an interpreter, but he soon left the Dutch and started his career as a businessman and a thief at sea. By AD 1627, Zheng Zhilong's fleet had grown to 700 ships, and it also harassed the coastal areas of Guangdong and Fujian from time to time, because it became a very headache in the Ming Dynasty. However, after 1 year, Xiong Wencan, the governor of Fujian in the Ming Dynasty, contacted Zheng Zhilong and hugged him. From then on, Zheng Zhilong became a coastal defense guerrilla under Xiong Wencan.
The Zheng brothers split the two countries
Zheng Zhilong, who became an official in the Ming Dynasty, soon remembered his wife and children who were still in Japan. In A.D. 1630, he first returned to China with his eldest son, but his wife Tian was forbidden to go abroad by the Tokugawa shogunate in Japan. The youngest son was only 3 years old at that time and stayed in Japan with his mother. At that time, Tian and his biological father's family thought that Zheng Zhilong would never return to Japan again, so they decided to give his younger brother home for adoption and named him Tamejiro Saemon.
Therefore, Tian and her second son have been living in Japan. But neither Zheng Zhilong nor Tian forgot, so they always wanted to bring their mother and son to China. However, the efforts of the father and son did not make progress until after 15. At that time, Zheng Zhilong obtained the concession of the Japanese shogunate through some old relationships in Japan, and finally was able to receive the land from China. But this does not mean that the Zheng family can finally reunite, because the Tokugawa shogunate allowed Tian to go to China, but his younger brother Jiro Weimen was not allowed to go to China. Although Tian also tried to spend a lot of money to dredge the shogunate, the shogunate knew that Zheng Zhilong's family was rich at that time, so he wanted his family to keep a hostage in Japan in order to gain greater benefits in the future. Therefore, no matter how Tian pleaded, the attitude of the shogunate was always very firm, and Jiro Saemon could not leave Japan.
In the end, Tian came to China to reunite with Zheng Zhilong in A.D. 1645, while Jiro was left in Japan. According to some historical records, before Tian left the Japanese ship, he cried and said to Jiro Saemon:
Don't forget your father and brother, and don't forget that your mother went to China today.
So Lany Jiro Saemon later lived alone in Japan, and later he changed his name to Lany VII Gate. However, although his parents and brothers have returned to China, they have not lost contact. Because the Japanese shogunate kept him in Japan in order to do more business with the Zheng family in the future, he did not stop the correspondence between their families. It was in the troubled times of the Ming and Qing Dynasties. 1644, the Ming dynasty fell. Later, Zheng Zhilong, Huang Daozhou and others established Zhu Weidi, the imperial clan of the Ming Dynasty, in Fuzhou, and established the political power of Longwu in Nanming. Because of his achievements, Zheng Zhilong was in power for a period of time, and his family's business grew bigger and bigger.
Therefore, Zheng Zhilong asked his second son, Lany VII, as the general representative of his family in Japan, to handle the trade affairs in Japan for himself. During this period, Saemon VII also accumulated a lot of wealth and became an important Japanese figure. However, this situation did not last long. In A.D. 1646, the Qing army went south, and Hong Chengchou, a fellow countryman of Quanzhou, persuaded Zheng Zhilong to surrender. In 65438+ February, Zheng Zhilong was cleared. However, Zheng Chenggong always refused to surrender, and then he led the army to continue to resist.
In less than a year, Anping, Fujian, where Tian was located, was captured by the Qing army, and Tian committed suicide to avoid humiliation. Therefore, since then, Zheng Chenggong has forged a hatred for killing his mother with the Qing army. Some scholars believe that Zheng Chenggong's failure to surrender has a lot to do with this matter. The Seventh Gate, who had lived with his mother since childhood, was also determined to support Zheng Chenggong's anti-Qing movement. Later, in the process of recovering Zheng Chenggong in Taiwan Province Province, the Dutch colonists tried to fight a long and arduous battle after losing the first battle. According to some records, Qishunmen, which was very successful in Japanese commerce at that time, also delivered dozens of ships of materials and silver to Zheng Chenggong, helping Zheng Chenggong finally make the Dutch finally surrender through a long siege and successfully recover Taiwan Province Province.
The Different Fates of the Descendants of the Zheng Brothers
However, later, the descendants of Zheng Chenggong and Tian Chuanqi Gate experienced their own vicissitudes with the changes of the times. First of all, shortly after the recovery of Taiwan Province Province, the Tokugawa shogunate began to implement the sea ban policy, and the contact between the Zheng family and the family was gradually interrupted. In AD 1683, the Qing Dynasty launched a war to unify Taiwan Province Province, and the Qing army defeated Zheng's army in the naval battle of Penghu. Then, Zheng Keshuang, the grandson of Zheng Chenggong, led his family to surrender to the Qing Dynasty. Later, the Zheng family moved to Beijing and was incorporated into the Yellow Flag of the Eight Banners of the Han Army in the Qing Dynasty. Zheng Keshuang himself was named Duke of Han Army. Later, the descendants of the Zheng family have been serving as the deputy leader.
During the Yongzheng period, when the Eight Banners were adapted, the Zheng family changed from the flag to the Zhenghongqi flag, and later generations served as the deputy leader until the late Qing Dynasty. 1920, Zheng Yi and Zheng Ze, who are considered to be the grandchildren of the ninth generation, also rebuilt Zheng's genealogy. 1930, Zheng Ze also donated a portrait of Zheng Chenggong to the predecessor of the Museum of Chinese History, but the family never heard from him again.
However, the Lany family gradually became Japanese after Japan's maritime ban. Later, in Nagasaki, where Tian Chuanjia was located, there was also a China family named Zheng who lived for a long time. They are considered to be descendants of Lany Seven Salmons. At the end of A.D. 19, a member of this family named Zheng once became a Japanese diplomat. In the negotiations after the Sino-Japanese Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, he also served as the translator of Japanese negotiator Ito Bowen. A few years later, he even served as the Japanese consul in Tianjin. Later, I changed my surname to Fuzhou in Japan. In recent years, some people have gone to Quanzhou to participate in activities related to Zheng Chenggong.
Therefore, the Zheng family is indeed a family with very diverse ancestors and descendants. However, Taohuashi Bagua believes that judging a person's historical status, his actions will definitely overshadow his family background. Although Zheng Chenggong's family background is very complicated, he expelled the Dutch colonists before his death and regained the treasure island of Taiwan Province Province occupied by western colonists for the Chinese nation. This historical event is indisputable, so his historical achievements should be remembered in any case.
