I. raising questions

Rodin once said, "Beauty is everywhere. For our eyes, it is not a lack of beauty, but a lack of discovery. " Beauty is life, and beauty is a rich, unique and pleasant concrete image that objectively exists in life, and the content of truth, goodness and harmony are unified. An important task of school education is to cultivate and develop students' aesthetic ability, improve students' aesthetic taste, and urge students to consciously shape themselves according to the requirements of beauty, so as to overcome and eliminate the false ugliness in life and create and enhance the truth, goodness and beauty in life.

everyone loves beauty. Cultivating and developing students' aesthetic ability is an indispensable content to comprehensively improve students' quality and promote the transformation from exam-oriented education to quality education. However, the traditional educational methods have serious shortcomings in cultivating and developing students' aesthetic ability: first, the content is boring and can not stimulate students' interest; Second, the form is single, and it is often based on words and pictures, which is difficult to arouse students' emotional * * *, resulting in poor ability of perception, identification and appreciation of beauty among young students. It is not uncommon for students to distinguish beauty from ugliness.

With the continuous development of science and technology and the advancement of educational modernization project, modern educational technology is rapidly popularized, which provides great convenience for us to use audio-visual media to cultivate and develop students' aesthetic ability. The research purpose of this topic is to try to use audio-visual media to help students perceive beauty, distinguish beauty and appreciate beauty through colorful activities, so as to guide students to actively pursue truth, goodness and beauty, continuously improve aesthetic taste, develop aesthetic ability and promote the all-round improvement of students' quality.

this project was established at the end of 1998, and the research plan was submitted to the municipal and provincial audio-visual education for approval. At that time, the idea was to study the beauty of literature, art, science, society and nature, and the members of the research group involved various disciplines. In May, 1999, the No.21 document of the Provincial Audio-visual Education Center issued the "Notice on the Approval Opinions of the Third Batch of Experimental Schools", requiring our school to "define the experimental disciplines in the independent variables, and suggest 1-2". According to the instructions of the Provincial Audio-visual Education Center, the research group revised the experimental scheme according to the actual situation of the school, clearly taking Chinese as the main experimental subject, and adjusted the members of the research group, removing the members of the original sound, body and beauty discipline and increasing the members of the Chinese discipline. In the second half of 1999, this subject was officially approved as an audio-visual experimental subject of the provincial group.

ii. research contents and methods

(I) research contents

(1) what are the shortcomings of conventional media in cultivating and developing students' aesthetic ability?

(2) What are the advantages of audio-visual media in cultivating and developing students' aesthetic ability? The research group will make an in-depth analysis from content to form, from method to effect.

(3) What are the elements of aesthetic ability? How to use audio-visual media to cultivate and develop students' aesthetic ability?

(2) research methods

1. Literature research: use libraries, reference rooms and the Internet to find relevant research documents, understand the latest research results of predecessors on this subject, accumulate relevant research materials, and master the research trends at home and abroad.

2. investigation and study: through investigation and observation, we can understand the present situation of students' aesthetic knowledge and ability, and further clarify the focus and direction of the research.

3. Experimental research: The classroom teaching activities of Chinese subject are the main position, and at the same time, extracurricular reading appreciation activities, theme class meetings, debates, visits and environmental infiltration are adopted to mobilize teachers and students to participate extensively, give full play to their subjective initiative and creativity, and continuously improve students' aesthetic ability.

Third, the implementation of the research

In order to improve the theoretical accomplishment and scientific research ability of the research members, we have determined the study plan of the research group, requiring each member to study a theoretical monograph every semester and make good reading notes; We arrange the members of the research group to participate in the training and observation activities of modern educational technology organized by provincial and municipal audio-visual education centers in time.

in the past three years, we have conducted in-depth research and beneficial discussion on the subject in both classroom teaching and extracurricular activities. Audio-visual education research classes are held every semester, and sometimes audio-visual education observation classes are held for the whole region.

in order to ensure that each research class can receive practical results, the research group has gradually formed the "Operating Procedure of Audio-visual Education Research Class" in teaching, and clearly defined the contents of pre-class design and after-class reflection:

(1) Thinking before class: 1. What media is suitable for this class? Why did you choose this kind of media? 2. When are you going to use the media? Why choose to use it at this time? 3. What do you expect to achieve through the use of media? What kind of abilities can students develop at the same time? 4. What method are you going to use to test the effect? 5. What information do you want to collect after this lesson?

(2) Analysis after class: 1. Is the media you choose appropriate? Is there a better choice? 2. Is the timing of media use appropriate? Is there a better time? 3. Has the teaching purpose of this course been achieved? Have you developed your expected students' abilities? Why? 4. Is the detection method you use effective? What needs to be improved? 5. In what ways can the information you collected prove the subject? 6. What contribution (including experience and lessons) has this research course made to the research of the subject?

The members of the research group must carefully design the teaching according to the operating procedures in the audio-visual teaching experiment class, so that the future research class will not deviate from the research direction, which lays a solid foundation for maximizing the experimental results.

In addition, we have made many useful attempts in holding literary works appreciation, organizing debates and competitions, and holding theme class meetings, and achieved good results.

IV. Achievements of research

In the research practice of the past three years, we have gradually realized that aesthetic ability includes the ability to awaken aesthetic consciousness, the ability to appreciate beauty in forming aesthetic situations, the ability to distinguish beauty by mobilizing aesthetic experience and the ability to create beauty by enriching aesthetic hearts. These four abilities involve four levels: experience, understanding, judgment and sublimation of beauty. When they are implemented in each research class, they should focus on each other, or perceive beauty, or appreciate beauty, or identify beauty, or create beauty, or integrate with each other. To this end, we have conducted in-depth research and active exploration by using audio-visual media, Chinese classes and various related activities. Practice has proved that the application of audio-visual media plays a very positive role in cultivating and developing students' aesthetic ability.

(1) use audio-visual media to awaken aesthetic consciousness and improve the ability to perceive beauty

Aesthetic education should give students rich aesthetic feeling. Chinese textbooks are rich in aesthetic education resources, but for middle school students with little experience, it is sometimes difficult to make them really understand this beauty by traditional teaching methods. Using audio-visual teaching methods, the text content can be appealed to visual pictures, coupled with music and expressive reading, which can awaken students' aesthetic consciousness and improve their perception of beauty.

When teaching Bing Xin's essay "Little Orange Lamp", it is difficult for students to understand why the author regards the little orange lamp as the embodiment of a little girl. After Bing Xin's death, it happened that CCTV broadcasted a group of TV essays based on Bing Xin's works, including "Little Orange Lamp". The research group immediately arranged for the students in the experimental class to hold an appreciation activity of Bing Xin's prose. When students relive this essay by multimedia, their sleeping aesthetic consciousness is immediately activated. They not only deeply grasp the connotation of the work, but also more truly realize the beauty of rhyme, scenery and emotion in Bing Xin's prose. A student wrote? quot; I can't believe that the image of' Little Orange Lamp' in the picture is so vivid and beautiful. Against the gloomy and dark background, the dim and orange-red light of the small orange lamp is the embodiment of a calm, brave and optimistic little girl and the most brilliant spark in her heart. It makes people see the light and be encouraged. "Without the intervention of audio-visual media and the organic integration of various media, it is hard to imagine that students will have such a profound understanding.

while teaching "Listening to Tide", a teacher of the research group edited two groups of media materials, namely "Sleeping in the Sea" and "Awakening in the Sea", and matched them with corresponding music, so that students can feel the beauty and magnificence of the sea through seeing, hearing and thinking, and achieved good results.

(2) Using audio-visual media to create aesthetic situations and improve the ability to appreciate beauty

The greatest advantage of audio-visual media in education is that it can integrate sound, text and painting, create an aesthetic situation with intuitive and vivid images, vivid and refined language and highly infectious music, so that students are deeply attracted and moved, and receive the influence of beauty in a subtle way to improve their ability to appreciate beauty.

On the eve of "March 8th" International Women's Day, we carefully planned a class meeting with the theme of "Song for Mother". The whole activity took three "MTV" as the main line: a song "Mother in Candlelight" kicked off the theme class meeting. With that beautiful melody, the mother on the screen was "too tired to stand tall and straight and lost her eyes", which suddenly attracted the attention of the students and created a good educational situation. With the music of "Only Mothers are Good in the World" playing gently, the image of deep affection between mother and child is displayed on the screen, the students' emotions are infected, associations are stimulated, and they come on stage one after another to tell their mothers' touching stories: after some students lost their father's love, their mothers put up the burden of raising their sons alone with great pains; Some students' step-mothers care about their daughters in every way, and their step-mothers are better than their biological mothers. At the theme class meeting, the students also used colorful cultural programs-choruses, sketches, recitation of music poems, etc.-to repay their mother's kindness, and prepared a small gift. They personally put on beautiful hairpins and unique brooches for their mothers, presented elaborate holiday cards, and signed a pink cloth with the words "Reward Great Mothers with Excellent Achievements" to express their ambition to serve and love their mothers.

At the end of the activity, along with the familiar melody of "Knowing You", the students sang their hearts with the actors while enjoying the moving pictures: "I want to be close to you and tell you that I have always understood you. "Finally, the following subtitles were printed on the screen:" Motherly love is the greatest emotion of human beings. Mothers are kind and great. Motherly love is gentle, deep and unforgettable. Let's dedicate our songs and deep love to our mothers, to our alma mater, hometown and motherland, because they all have the same name. "The baritone's affectionate recitation has sublimated the feelings of the students and deepened the theme of the class meeting.

after the class meeting, the students wrote down their feelings in their diaries? quot; This is the most unforgettable theme class meeting I attended. It is novel, vivid and intuitive, which deeply touched me. Over the past few days, my heart has been filled with passion to study hard, repay my mother and serve my country. " "I will always remember my mother's deep kindness and make her smile forever with excellent grades."

(3) using audio-visual media to mobilize aesthetic experience and improve the ability to distinguish beauty

A person's aesthetic ability is based on his aesthetic experience, and rich aesthetic experience can enhance the effect of aesthetic education. When the aesthetic subject actively mobilizes his past aesthetic experience, his feelings of beauty will be more real and his understanding of beauty will be deeper. Audio-visual media plays an important role in helping students surpass their old aesthetic experience and improve their ability to distinguish beauty.

For a period of time, several suicides of primary and middle school students reported in the media have aroused great repercussions among some students, especially some poor students. How to help students cherish life and face difficulties and setbacks bravely has become a topic of concern to our educators.

Soon, CCTV's "Tell the Truth" program told the story of a 16-year-old female middle school student in Beijing, Zhang Muran, who was terminally ill, studied hard and smiled at her bad luck. The research group immediately seized this rare educational opportunity and held a theme activity of "Cherish Life, Feel Strong". First, I took a picture of Zhang Muran's hair falling off, still loving life and smiling brightly on the big screen, and then listened to the deep memories of Zhang Muran by famous program hosts Bai Yansong, Jing Yidan and Cui Yongyuan. The students were immediately deeply moved by this real and touching story. A junior two student said emotionally: "In the face of such a sister who is not much older than us but much stronger than us, I have an unspeakable feeling in my heart. 16-year-old, should have enjoyed the care of teachers and parents at school and at home, and the friendship between classmates, but Zhang Muran can only face white, and this coldest color * * * degrees 16-year-old flower season. Zhang Muran, who is talking and laughing with his classmates in the picture, laughs so innocently, so thoroughly and without reservation. We can hardly believe that this is really a cancer patient. Seeing this elder sister laughing so happily, we seem to want to laugh, but more want to cry. Tears are shed not only for Mu Ran's illness, but also for our weakness and weather-resistance: failing in the exam is nothing but tears; I cut my hand, but I cried and cried. Being criticized by the teacher, I can't bear it in my heart, except tears. As for Mu Ran, death is approaching her step by step. She can't study happily and play as much as we do in school, but she always smiles and is full of hope for life. In front of her, we feel ashamed. Although she has left us, the thoughts she left us are eternal. In the journey of life, we will encounter many difficulties. We should face setbacks like Mu Ran, work hard, love life, forge ahead bravely and make life more meaningful? quot; Those students who have negative and world-weary thoughts have also improved their understanding through comparison and identification, saying that they should love life like Zhang Muran and let every day of life give off its due light and heat.

The members of the research group also use the debate, a form that students love to hear, to help students make clear right and wrong, distinguish beauty from ugliness, and improve their ability to distinguish beauty.

(D) Using audio-visual media to enrich the aesthetic mind and improve the ability to create beauty

An important task of aesthetic education activities is to cultivate the richness and diversity of people's aesthetic mind. With its unique advantages, audio-visual media can help students obtain a lot of beautiful information in a limited time. The use of audio-visual media enables students to enrich their aesthetic mind and improve their ability to create beauty in the constant edification of beautiful images.

When teaching the text "Premier Zhou, where are you?", the teacher realized that students were not familiar with Premier Zhou's life story, and it was difficult to understand people's feelings about Premier Zhou at that time, so he carefully made multimedia courseware, using a group of pictures and videos to vividly reproduce Premier Zhou's great life and the moving scene that the people of the capital stood in the bitter cold wind and wept to see Premier Zhou off, which immediately aroused students' strong emotions. After the analysis, accompanied by "embroidered gold plaque"? quot; Three embroideries of Premier Zhou, the good premier of the people ... "The music appeared on the big screen in the background of the rising sun, and the picture of Premier Zhou coming to us with a smile immediately aroused the students' emotions, and the theme of Premier Zhou being with the people forever was also deeply reflected. At this time, the teacher arranged homework in time, asking students to choose a section from the poem, expand their reasonable imagination, and describe the picture in vivid and realistic language to show their ability to create beauty.
