The author of the scenery outside the window

The scenery outside the window is written by Xu Jianzhong.

Scenery Outside the Window focuses on the subtle changes of China in the era of reform and opening up, and records the process of urbanization civilization in China. So there is a strong sense of documentary and history. For example, the book records the emergence of the first Shanghai fashion show team in China, the opening of Tiananmen Gate to the public for the first time, the female pilot in the aviation history of China, and the four generations of Little Swan of China Ballet.

The historical process is slowly unfolding in these details, and these iconic highlights of urban life have undoubtedly become the enlightenment of people's civilized life. The scenery outside the window covers politics, economy, culture, transportation, tourism and other fields. It is a panoramic manual to interpret the contemporary urban life in China.

At the same time, the book "Scenery Outside the Window" also has a very cordial human touch. As a generation of photographers who have traveled all over the country and even the world, Xu Jianzhong has extremely rich life experiences. He traveled to every province in China and dozens of countries on five continents, recording his life feelings, taking in the moments of life, and integrating the pleasure of amphibious life into the lines of the book. The book also includes dozens of old photos, accompanied by documentary words, which are quite "old photos".

About the author:

Xu Jianzhong, a senior reporter of People's Daily, was born in Changde City, Hunan Province in June. When he was a senior in No.4 Middle School, he responded to the great call of the CPC Central Committee to "resist U.S. aggression and aid Korea and protect the country and defend the country" and resolutely joined the PLA Military Cadre School and flew in the Sixth Aviation School (now the Flight Academy) of the Air Force.

Since 1956, I have worked as a news officer in the flight corps, division and military political department, that is, engaged in news work. Participated in training courses organized by Air Force Daily, People's Liberation Army Daily, People's Liberation Army Pictorial and Air Force Culture Department, which laid a good foundation for written and photographic reports.

1976 after job-hopping, I went to work in the Propaganda Department of Beijing No.1 Commercial Bureau. 1980 transferred to People's Daily as a reporter, and still insisted on paying equal attention to writing and photography, so he was called an "amphibious reporter". While completing the daily writing and photography reports, I edited overseas photography magazines for a long time and served as the news photography teaching task of the newspaper news training class. From 65438 to 0996, People's Daily Publishing House edited and published a large-scale hardcover photo and communication album "Amphibian Life".

During his 40-year journalism career, Comrade Xu Jianzhong has successively become a member of Beijing Photographers Association, China Photographers Association, China Photojournalism Association and China Senior Photographers Association.

From 65438 to 0994, after going through the retirement formalities, Comrade Xu Jianzhong was re-employed for another eight years due to work needs, and he didn't really begin to enjoy retirement benefits until 2002.

On the Double Ninth Festival in 2004, the Bureau of Retired Veteran Cadres of People's Daily held a photography exhibition for him, and People's Daily published a batch of his photography works, and opened a column of "Appreciation of Xu Jianzhong's Photography Works". Beijing and Hunan TV stations interviewed him and produced and broadcast special TV programs.
