Your first step has been wrong. You should use CMYK mode when drawing.
The color difference between CMYK mode and RGB mode is very large. When the picture you made with RGB is finally printed, it is much worse than you think. If you ask for more color, you will be hurt. CMYK mode is the printing mode, basically "what you see is what you get".
