How to design an excellent PPT
To illustrate this point, I opened Powerpoint, grabbed an actual default style, and randomly wrote some words on it. This process is almost completely consistent with the workflow of countless PPT designers, and the result is that I have seen countless typical slides during my study and work.
(Text in the picture: Isn't the greatest slide shocking? )
This is a design secret, and this film is disgusting; As disgusting as many default styles you find in Powerpoint. It is true that their products have made remarkable progress in recent years, and Keynote (Apple's demo tool) also has some good templates, but you should not take these as the core means, and only use them when time is pressing.
The point here is that customized sound is more powerful. Your colleagues know and use those Powerpoint templates. If you don't work hard on the aesthetics of slides, your colleagues will notice them immediately.
I know it seems radical for non-designers to get rid of templates, but you can! As long as you read all the other skills in this article before you start. Otherwise, the result may be worse than that made by Microsoft designers.
#2 Use high-quality photos
Photos are one of the best ways to make your speech wonderful. This is also one of the best ways to screw up your speech alone. Business people on a white background looks good, but it's a bit exaggerated and a bit old-fashioned.
Also, just because you put a nude photo on a white background doesn't mean that this photo is a good one. Don't put ugly and inappropriate photos just to put them on. Remember, no photo is better than a bad one.
Text in the picture: This lady really scared me.
For example, let's compare the film above with the film below. See the difference? The pictures in the following films are unique, fascinating and unconventional. Don't fall into the quagmire of using lame and dull art, you can grab free high-quality photos and make a stronger and more intuitive statement.
Find free pictures
Where are these amazing photos you mentioned? Novices can take a look at Stock XCHNG, a free theme photography website with thousands of contents and mixed quality. Besides, did you know that you can do Flickr search to use the content licensed by knowledge? These photos are free, and many of them just need to list their ownership, add a photo at the end of the slide and attach a link to the source of the photo.
The above picture is an example, from Lauren Tucker (click to view the website), and it is the material authorized by Knowledge * * * on Flickr.
3 Monochrome brings shock.
You don't always have to rely on fancy photos or crazy custom backgrounds to make PPT look professional. You can make a wonderful presentation with a powerful monochrome palette.
The above movie is an excellent example, using unpretentious design to create something that looks great effortlessly. Whether you are a designer or not, you can do it, right?
The key here is to choose your color very carefully. Too bright and funny colors will affect the audience's eyes. At the same time, we should pay attention to the extensive use of contrast in auxiliary colors. A crash course in color theory will be of great benefit to you.
If you need help building a palette, take a look at the following three free tools.
Kule
Kuler is a model of online color tools. There are thousands of excellent preset color templates to choose from, and you can also use this advanced and easy-to-use tool to generate your own template.
Picnik
Piknik is one of the most basic color tools on earth, and it is definitely one of my favorites. Just gently move the mouse to change the color, scroll to change the brightness, and then click to copy the value to the sticker, and you're done.
When I make a website, I use it every day to find the feeling of color selection, including what it will look like, what it will look like if it covers the whole screen, which color is suitable for making slides and so on.
0 to 255
0to255 is also one of my favorites, and it is a very shocking tool to discover color changes. This makes it excellent in designing borders and hovering effects of websites, but you can also use it to find key colors for layout or other elements of PPT.
4 typesetting is clear and clear
Non-designers always emphasize finding the right font or the right reason for the display. Xiao He beat Xiao He, and the right font can make your presentation or ruin your film. In the field of design, typesetting is an important art form, which can really set the stage for what you want to express.
Remember, fonts can convey an attitude, an opinion, or any other factor in time. Instead of browsing the font list to find "cool things", think about what you want to convey.
As an example of how typesetting can communicate only through its own design, please look at the following fonts. Old-fashioned serif fonts often give people a formal and professional feeling, while sans serif fonts are neat and modern.
The biggest mistake people make when using fonts in PPT is that the first three fonts listed above are boring. This made them jump to the bottom font because they thought it was more unique and interesting.
If you are not a professional designer, remember that the first three fonts are never boring, they are safe. They are beautiful fonts, and they are all professionally designed to make you look good. Yes, that's exactly what they want to do.
Never be afraid of standard fonts. Using them can help you ensure that the design remains professional and tidy, away from ugliness and chaos. Please pay attention to how the following movies use relatively boring fonts, but through the use of different sizes and thicknesses, and add some visual fun, the final product is not boring.
Skills of using interesting fonts
Now, please don't frown What I want to say is that you don't have to avoid those cool fonts 100%. Interesting things always have a chance to work, as long as you know how to use these fonts wisely and flexibly.
As shown in the above picture, a good trick to use these crazy fonts is to use them as titles and keep the rest of the text simple. Once you use too many complicated fonts or start mixing complicated styles, all you get is an unreadable mess. On the top, we let most of the information use your readable font, but we can still bring enough impressive things to your page through the title.
Pay attention to your readability.
When discussing the topic of typesetting, you should always pay attention to the readability of fonts in the presentation. Sometimes the second trick of Sunflower Collection (finding high-quality pictures) will get you into the following situation.
Text in the picture: It's hard to read, no matter what color you choose.
Here we have a very attractive image, but it does damage the readability of the text. Even if we make the font bold and try different colors, the effect is not good. For a novice designer, this is really frustrating.
However, the solution is quite simple: use the third trick of sunflower collection (monochrome brings shock). By creating a simple color bar behind the text, we can greatly improve the readability while maintaining the fashion sense of the slide.
This is a fairly common practice. Big tricks are hidden in shapes and can be applied in different ways. Look at the following examples to awaken your inspiration.
