Yao Temple Culture in Chenlu Ancient Town

Chen Lu was named for "pottery furnace display". Chen Lu Kiln is the inheritance and continuation of the ancient Yaozhou Kiln and an important part of Yaozhou Kiln. Chen Lu Kiln inherited the fire of Yaozhou Kiln 1300 years ago. It is the only Yaozhou kiln that keeps firing and never stops firing. It is a living Yaozhou kiln and a living fossil for studying ancient ceramics. In the Song Dynasty, the porcelain industry in China flourished, and four kiln systems were formed in the north, namely Ding Kiln, Jun Kiln, Yaozhou Kiln and Cizhou Kiln. These four kilns are famous in China for their exquisite craftsmanship and exquisite products, and they sell well overseas. They are called the four famous kilns in northern China. Yaozhou Kiln was first burned in the Tang Dynasty, located in Huangbao Town, Wangyi District, Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, and reached its peak in the Song Dynasty. After the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, it gradually declined, and it was broken in the Ming Dynasty. According to the existing archaeological investigation, since the Jin Dynasty, the focus of Yaozhou kiln porcelain industry has gradually shifted to the eastern hillside (now Lidipo Village, Chen Lu Town) which is 20 kilometers away from it, and then transferred to the jurisdiction of Chen Lu Town through Shangdian (now Shangdian Village, Chen Lu Town), which continues to this day. Therefore, today's Yaozhou kiln site includes three kilns: Ruins Slope, Shangdian and Chenlu.

During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the production of ceramics in Chen Lu reached its peak, and there were 800 families in the town, all engaged in the ceramic industry. County records: "Porcelain field from bottom to top, three miles from east to west, five miles from north to south. The fire never goes out day and night, and the night is bright. Looking out from the mountain, there is a mountain lamp. " The wonders of Lushan Mountain, the city that never sleeps, are listed as one of the eight scenic spots of the same official (Jiyang Sunset, Xiandong Morning Sunrise, Jiangzi Breeze, Waterfall Spring Flying Rain, Sanshan Chun Xue, Ershui Winter Ice, Peak Mountain Clouds, Lushan Mountain Never Sleeps). The ancients wrote poems praising: "This is not a long night, but the stars and Ryutsuki are running in different directions." . This is a true portrayal of the prosperity of Chen Lu porcelain industry at that time. Chenlu is the largest porcelain production base in northwest China, second only to Guyaozhou Kiln, and is known as "Weibei Porcelain Capital".
