Adult education of Beijing Film Academy was founded in 1987, formerly known as Beijing Film Academy Yeda.

The teaching form has expanded from the original single amateur study to full-time teaching and part-time teaching.

During the period of 1989, Night University set up two majors, namely, director and film and television art advertisement, which solved the internship problems of students of the two majors under the condition of very difficult funds. Under the organization of Night University, more than 20 CCTV public service advertisements and documentary "Thirty Years of Safe Flight of Air China" have been filmed successively.

1992, a new photo photography major was added in Night University, and enrollment was increased. In the same year, Night University officially became an independent teaching department.

Starting from 1994, the college has also developed adult education in provinces and cities outside Beijing, and established correspondence stations representing the enrollment, teaching and student management of the college. In the same year, the Continuing Education Center developed adult education to other provinces and cities outside Beijing, and established a correspondence station for enrollment, teaching and student management on behalf of our college. First, two correspondence stations were established in Hebei (Yan Yongtai, stationmaster of Zhao Yan) and Zhengzhou (stationmaster of Liu Da). The main majors are "film and television drama" and "photo photography".

1995, a new major in cinematography and cinematographic design was added to Night University, and enrollment was increased. In the same year, the Continuing Education Center compiled two sets of correspondence teaching materials, including photo photography 18, drama 12, and some video materials. This work pioneered the compilation of professional series textbooks of Beijing Film Academy and became the first professional series textbook of Beijing Film Academy. Beijing Film Academy appointed Mr. Liu Ji as the deputy director of the Continuing Education Center, responsible for teaching.

At the same time, Hunan (stationmaster Liao), Anhui (stationmaster Wang Shengguang and Yuan Shunde), Guangxi (stationmaster and army), Sichuan (stationmaster Liu Wei), Inner Mongolia (stationmaster Jiang), Gansu (stationmaster Bai Huan), Xinjiang (stationmaster Jia Zhi and Lin Lin), Beijing and other correspondence stations have been established one after another, enrolling students for ten years in a row and training correspondence graduates.
