How to learn photography skills

As suggestions for amateur photographers, we summarized the following shooting skills. Whether you have experience or not, these skills can help you to some extent.

1. Always bring a camera.

How many short pictures did you miss with regret? If you always have a camera at hand, this situation can be easily avoided.

Many instantaneous natural images are priceless to photographers. In order to capture them, you need to carry a camera at all times. Of course, your camera may be too big and heavy to carry around. Then, consider buying a cheaper portable camera in case of emergency.

Approaching the theme

As we all know, the closer you are to the subject, the better the picture will be. Because this can avoid the irrelevant background that interferes with the line of sight and clearly present the subject.

When shooting, try to show only enough background to make your picture clear and interesting. Pay attention to set the camera to manual mode and find the nearest distance that allows shooting. Many stupid cameras must be at least 4 feet away from the subject, otherwise they cannot focus clearly.

Let the theme move

When shooting people, make them move. So your picture will become vivid and natural.

To avoid stiff and static postures, encourage your partner to be active. Your encouragement and tips will bring them more relaxed and natural expression.

Use a simple background

A simple background helps to focus the viewer's attention on the protagonist of the picture, bringing clearer and more powerful visual effects. Try to find such a neat and simple background!

Keep the theme away from the center

There is nothing wrong with putting the subject in the center of the viewfinder. But if it is placed in the center, it can give people a more dynamic feeling.

6. Increase the prospect of landscape photos

When taking landscape photos, try to bring the foreground into the lens, which can increase the depth and three-dimensional sense of the picture.

Looking for good light

Adequate light is the basic requirement of exposure, and good light can make the picture more interesting, colorful and three-dimensional. Strong sunlight is just a good light. Many people are surprised to learn that cloudy days can bring the best light for portrait photography. In fact, sunlight can make people squint and bring a heavy shadow. The light on a cloudy day can make the face color of a character very soft.

8. End-stabilized camera

Sometimes, some good photos will miss you because you pay too much attention to technical problems such as shooting angle, distance and focus. Stabilizing the camera is the most fundamental factor to take clear photos. Don't press the shutter too hard, just press it gently. Even a slight shake of the camera will affect the clarity of the photo. If possible, you'd better find a fulcrum for your arm or use a tripod.

9. Use a flash

Making full use of the built-in flash can improve the image quality. When necessary (especially indoor photography), it can fill your light.

Be careful not to leave the effective range of the flash, only in this range can you get the correct exposure. Typical range is about 4 to 12 feet. Don't forget to set the camera to manual mode to match the effective range of the flash.

Flash can also be a big help when shooting outdoors. It can weaken shadows and increase the brightness of colors.

10. Choose the right film (if you are a film camera! )

At present, there are many brands and specifications of film on the market. When shooting, check the film speed that can be used in the camera manual mode, and comprehensively consider the shooting environment, objects and other factors to choose the film that suits you.
