The difference between mobile phone camera and digital camera
The difference between a mobile phone camera and a digital camera Whether you have a professional high-end camera or just a camera phone that you can't live without, you need to know and master the basic knowledge of photography if you want to take very emotional photos or great photos!
Mobile phone camera is not completely equivalent to digital camera industry, also referred to as DSC. Although the principle of camera implementation is the same, their differences are obvious. Let's understand and master the correct use of the camera phone by looking at some differences between the camera and DSC.
1. Difference between zoom function of mobile phone camera and digital camera
One of the most obvious differences between mobile phone cameras and digital cameras is the optical zoom function. Due to the overall slim design of the camera and the requirements of the battery life of the mobile phone, the camera phone basically does not realize the optical zoom function, and only supports the zoom function of several yards. But there is a big difference between optical zoom and digital zoom. Optical zoom is to change the magnification by moving the lens position, so as to realize the telescopic magnification function. Will not affect the details of the actual photos; Digital zoom, on the other hand, intercepts a part of the imaging plane by software, and interpolates and amplifies it by software to achieve the zoom effect. Just like a picture with a fixed size, if a part is constantly enlarged by software, it will become more and more blurred, resulting in mosaic (sawtooth) phenomenon. The maximum magnification of photos will cause more serious loss of image quality.
So we understand why most mobile phones use zoom to take pictures, and the effect is poor (the greater the zoom factor, the worse the effect). Digital cameras with optical zoom function do not have this problem.
★ This feature of the camera phone tells us that we should use the digital zoom function on the phone as appropriate and try not to use it. If you really need to zoom in, you should adopt appropriate magnification according to the actual situation of digital zoom of your mobile phone to reduce the loss of image quality.
2. The difference between mobile phone camera and digital camera flash.
After using a digital camera, another obvious difference between a camera phone and a digital camera is that the flash is different. Except for a few mobile phones equipped with high-power xenon flashlights, others are basically LED flashlights. The main difference between these two lamps lies in the luminous intensity and irradiation range, which affects the shooting effect of night and low light scenes. In the camera industry, the flash involves a parameter, the term is called the light guide number (flash index, also called simple GN value), which is an index to measure the power of the flash. The requirement of flash index is not less than the product of shooting distance and aperture coefficient.
However, we know that it is difficult to use a larger xenon lamp as the standard configuration of the camera phone from the hardware and structural design of the phone (the thickness of the phone is the most sensitive). At the same time, due to the high power of xenon lamp, the power consumption will also increase obviously. If used frequently, it will greatly reduce the battery life of the mobile phone and affect the most basic use of the mobile phone. The time difference between professional cameras with and without flash is more than double. With the development of flash and battery technology, it is believed that more efficient flash will be deployed on camera phones.
Even so, the LED flash of the camera phone can still meet the requirements of general photography, and the better double LED flash can generally meet the requirements of low-light photography within a distance of 2 meters indoors, which plays a role in supplementing light. But outdoor is different, because the outdoor background is empty and there is no reflection of light. After the LED flashes with limited power, there is basically no environmental reflection, and the effect is greatly reduced due to the characteristics of camera metering. However, there is still no big problem in the range of 1 meter.
★ Due to the characteristics of the camera phone, the power of the configured LED flash is limited, which can basically meet the needs of indoor photography. However, if it is in an outdoor environment at night, try to ensure that the shooting distance is controlled within the range of 1 m.
3. Understanding the safety shutter of mobile phone camera and digital camera
Digital cameras always involve a safety shutter, that is, the exposure time of photos. Friends who like photography must know something. Usually, whether using a professional camera or a camera phone, many people have encountered blurred photos for various reasons:
A the subject is moving or the photographer is in a moving state, and the moving speed is too fast.
B the ambient light is dark, and there is no ideal lighting environment and light supplement measures.
C. The photographer's hand shaking causes blurred images, which is more likely to happen to people who have no photographic experience.
D shooting when the focusing system is not fully focused, or the imaging is blurred due to incorrect focusing position.
E. blur caused by incomplete exposure and moving camera.
The reason why the photos of the above scenes are easily blurred is actually related to the safety shutter. Now let's learn about the safety shutter. Safe shutter, in popular understanding, refers to the shutter time when a hand-held camera device can take a clear picture. If there is a fast enough shutter combination, the photo will not be blurred easily.
Taking photos at night and in poor light is a bottleneck of all camera phones, so it is difficult to show good brightness, noise and clarity of photos at the same time. Coupled with the change in the way of operating the mobile phone to take pictures (the mobile phone has no two-stage mechanical shutter button, and basically focuses and starts the shutter action by touching the screen shutter icon), this way of operating the mobile phone will increase the chance of blurred photos. Generally, the camera itself is relatively heavy, and it is easier to be stable when taking pictures. The mobile phone is light in weight and easy to shake. If we can correct these characteristics of mobile phones, we can also try to avoid blurred photos.
★ Because of the difference between operating the camera phone and operating the camera, and the different quality, when taking photos with the camera phone in low light environment, you should try to take photos with both hands, and avoid taking photos with one hand alone. Pay special attention to the stability of your hands when taking pictures (this is very important).
4. The difference of focal length and depth of field between mobile phone camera and digital camera.
Because digital cameras have optical zoom lenses, the body size is larger (can accommodate larger equipment), the focal length is generally longer than that of mobile phone cameras, and the performance of depth of field will be different.
The depth of field of a digital camera at the wide-angle end is similar to that of a mobile phone camera, and both have a larger field of view and a better depth of field. However, if you want to take some photos that highlight the subject and blur the background, it is estimated that both mobile phone cameras and ordinary consumer cameras can't satisfy them, and only some cameras with large focal lengths can have excellent performance. However, you can focus on the macro focusing function of mobile phone cameras and ordinary digital cameras. In macro focusing, according to the factors that affect the depth of field, we can also use the same aperture and focal length to take pictures with blurred background and clear subject.
★ Because the focal length of mobile phone cameras is usually short, and the thinner the mobile phone, the shorter the focal length, so normal photography can't take a photo with a shallow depth of field that highlights the subject. Because the aperture and focal length are fixed, only the photographing distance can be changed, so macro photography can also take photos with blurred background and prominent subject, and the effect is also very good! This can come in handy.
