What are the advantages and disadvantages of Nikon D5 compared with D850?
First of all, it has been emphasized that the choice of equipment is nothing more than "budget and demand". Regardless of the budget, we focus on how to choose from the needs.
From the positioning point of view:
D850: 2065438+launched in August, 2007, is a special product of Nikon's centenary and a follow-up model of D8 10. Nikon positioned it as a quasi-professional Quan Huafu SLR, and the fuselage continued the control and flip touch screen design of D500; Low-sense image quality inherits the tolerance advantage of D8 10, and high-sense image quality can compete with A7RII, almost having the top-level image quality of today's 135 system.
D5: 2065438+March 2006, earlier than D850. In fact, it was born to cope with the "Olympic year" when the military strategists were struggling hard, and it was positioned as the top flagship model.
From valid pixels:
D850: The effective pixel is as high as 47.5 million, only lower than Sony A7R4 with effective pixel as high as 6/kloc-0.0 million, but it is still the highest level in the SLR system. This means that the resolution of the image quality and the level of detail are quite perfect.
D5: Effective pixels are only 20.82 million. In terms of image quality, lower pixels per inch means better signal-to-noise ratio and high sensitivity control ability, which is completely enough for photographers with less demanding image quality.
From continuous shooting's ability:
D850: Under normal circumstances, the speed of continuous shooting is 7fps, while the speed of continuous shooting can reach 9fps with the handle and EN-EL 18 battery. Its image sensor with 47.5 million effective pixels restricts the continuous shooting ability of D850 to some extent, because higher pixels per inch means that the data to be calculated by the graphics processor is greatly increased in the same time.
D5: High-speed continuous shooting capability is also one of the hard indicators of flagship models, and D5 has achieved the ultimate in this respect. Nikon D5 can achieve a high-speed continuous shooting of about 12 frame/s when continuously tracking moving objects, and a high-speed continuous shooting of about 12 frame/s (enabling AF/AE tracking) under various image quality and all ISO sensitivity settings (the camera is set to CH high-speed continuous shooting mode, and the shutter speed is above 1/250 seconds). In addition, Nikon D5 adopts a brand-new mirror drive device, which makes the viewfinder image more stable and facilitates continuous tracking of fast-moving subjects at high-speed continuous shooting. A single continuous shooting can save up to 200 14-bit lossless compressed RAW images (when using Lexar Professional 2933x XQD 2.0 memory card).
In terms of height:
D850: According to the official data and some sensor data, Nikon D850 draws on the idea of D5/D500 in sensor design, and because of the characteristics of the back-illuminated sensor, Nikon D850 has two sets of circuits, which maintain the image quality similar to D8 10 in low sense, and enhance the gain effect of the sensor when shooting in high ISO, thus obtaining better high sense performance.
D5: The original ISO of D5 is as high as 100- 102400, and the extended ISO is as high as 3,280,000, which fully deserves its top flagship position. Nikon started from D5, and paid more attention to the image quality performance under high sensitivity. D5 In order to improve the high-sensitivity image quality, some low-sensitivity image quality is sacrificed.
In terms of focusing ability:
D850: One of the core upgrades of Nikon D850 is the overall improvement of shooting performance. In the focusing system and metering system, D5 system module is completely replaced. 153 point focusing system has 99 cross-focus points, with the center supporting -4EV focusing and the rest supporting -3EV. In addition, the touch function has been added to the live view focusing, and the function has also been upgraded.
D5: Although Nikon officially explained that it is the same focusing system as D850, according to relevant evaluation, D5' s dynamic focusing ability in low light still exists on D850, which involves many factors, such as sensors, processing power and software algorithms. I won't discuss it here.
How to choose two cameras?
D850: Nikon D850 is Nikon's best in sensor, focusing system and video system. We know that D8 10 is the best camera in 135 at present, so although D850 is slightly weaker than D8 10 at very low sensitivity ISO 64, the dark details of D850 are better and the overall color is more stable at high ISO. At the same time, thanks to its 45.75 megapixel back-illuminated sensor, it can get more at low sensitivity.
Therefore, unless you have an extreme demand for instantaneous capture of sports and ecological photography, then D850 can completely satisfy all other subjects.
D5: In the product sequence of F-mount digital SLR cameras, Nikon D5 is at the top of the pyramid. Its powerful maneuverability, adaptability in harsh environment scenes, auto-focus and continuous shooting performance, fuselage workmanship, endurance and other aspects have the highest level in digital SLR cameras, and also represent Nikon's strongest technical level in the field of digital SLR cameras at present. Nikon D5 is almost an all-around camera, but the resolution at low sensitivity is not as good as that at high pixels.
In particular, D5 has top-notch high sensitivity. For indoor or low light environment, the photographer can get a faster shutter speed, and even in the case of poor light, the photographer dares to set a higher ISO value without worrying about the final shooting effect.
There are no stupid questions, only boring answers.
I know right and wrong. I hope my answer is interesting and rigorous enough.

It's all cattle machines
These two cameras are high-end machines of Nikon cameras, but their positioning is completely different. D5 is a speed machine, mainly suitable for sports, news, animals and other photography. Its main features are strong focusing and fast continuous shooting speed. This camera integrates Nikon's top-end focusing system, which can focus quickly and accurately, and can complete accurate focus locking in a very short time. In addition, the continuous shooting per second 14 can fully meet the needs of news, sports, shooting animals and other moving objects, and can withstand harsh environments. D850 is a pixel machine, its main feature is high pixels, and its effective pixels reach more than 45 million, which is suitable for commercial photography. Moreover, its focusing system is transplanted from D5, and its continuous shooting speed is up to 9. It is the Quan Huafu SLR camera with the highest comprehensive performance except for the speed machine. Although it has been listed for three years, its comprehensive performance is very strong and it is a century-old classic of Nikon. D5 and D850 are two different types of machines, and D850 is more suitable for home and business shooting.
