What is the picture quality setting of Nikon d700 shooting direct film images?

I have used D700 camera for many years, and the picture quality has been set to RAW( 14bit). This lossless original information recording format can adjust the exposure parameters and white balance to the maximum extent in the later stage. It is very simple to make post-adjustment with ViewNX2 software provided by Nikon. You don't have to bother when shooting, and you can get the desired effect later. Some people have a soft spot for direct JPG movies, and think that is the real kung fu. However, at that time, a little carelessness and improper setting made the film irreparable.

For direct JPG images, it must be set to TIFF or JPG fine to avoid losing image details.

In order to minimize the post-processing work, some people also introduce specific curves into their personal settings. In fact, they used the method of in-machine processing in the early stage and did some post-processing work according to their favorite style. However, once a picture is processed and stored in JPG format, it cannot be recovered. A curve can only be applied to a specific scene, so it is very troublesome and error-prone to change the curve frequently when taking photos with different themes. It is much better to save it in RAW format and leave this work for post-processing.
