Is it true that the Vietnamese frogman sank the American aircraft carrier?

On May 2nd, 1964, Vietnamese Secret Service Frogman sank USS Kade in Saigon Port, which was an escort carrier built by the US Navy during World War II. It belongs to the "Borg" class in the United States. It was rebuilt from the hull of a c-3 standard cargo ship with 1942, with a length of 15 1.2m, a draft of 7.9m and a speed of 18 knots. The defensive firepower of the whole ship consists of only two 127 mm single-barrel guns and several 40 mm /20 mm guns, and the number of carrier-based aircraft is 28.

Vietnamese frogmen first disguised themselves as South Vietnamese puppet troops and hid magnetic mines in the harbor. In the early morning, six frogmen put on diving suits and slowly approached Kade in a small sampan. When they were 2 kilometers away from Kade, they dived into the water, tied the magnetic mine to the hull and left quickly after setting the time. Shortly after the frog was evacuated, the mine exploded, blasting an 8-meter-long hole in Kade with a displacement of 654.38+500,000 tons. After the explosion, the ship sank 15 meters. Why15m? Because the water depth of Saigon Harbor is15m. After the Kaide was bombed, it was converted into an armed aircraft transport (AKV). The Frogman tried to sink its sister ship Cole, but failed.
