Now he is employed in Zhengzhou Teaching Base of Henan Art School as a full-time teacher of Quyi.

He was born in Pingyang County, Zhejiang Province. At the age of 8, because of his father's job transfer, his family moved north to Kaifeng, Henan. In 1960, Mr. Yu Bai, who was only 17 years old, was a teacher and taught cross talk. In his artistic career of nearly 50 years, he was not only praised by his mentor, but also taught by Tao Xiangjiu, Master Ma, Gao Xiaolin, Hou, Wang Benlin, Guo Dezhong, Ma, Jin, and many other senior uncles, and also received enthusiastic help and guidance from Jin Wenhe, Zheng Xiaoshan, Li Boxiang and Ren Wenli. With the help of many tutors, his crosstalk performance has been improved by leaps and bounds from theory to practice. He is not good at "singing" because his voice is congenitally deficient. However, he made great efforts in "speaking, learning and teasing" and learned other art categories in many ways. In addition to crosstalk performances, he can also skillfully perform ventriloquism, sketches, Allegro books, Shandong Allegro books and so on. People in the industry rated him as "good at speaking, learning, teasing and imitating", and called his cross talk "cross talk of literary situation", which was literary, philosophical, interesting and had its own style.

His performances have spread all over the motherland and won many national and provincial awards. His works were broadcast on CCTV and some provincial and municipal TV stations, and were produced and released by Pacific Audio & Video Company and Yang Zijiang Audio & Video Company.
