How to shoot the moon

If the moon wants to look good, we need to pay attention to the following aspects.

1, where to shoot?

If you want to improve the quality of observation and photography, you must choose a suitable place, find some distinctive background objects or some scenery on the ground as a foil, such as trees and houses, to avoid confusion and leave room for the trajectory of the moon.

2, telephoto lens

In fact, the requirement of shooting the moon alone is not too high, because the moon itself is bright enough and does not need too high ISO. Both full-frame and half-frame machines can shoot a clear moon. The key is the focal length of the lens. If you want to take pictures of the moon with rich texture and large size, you must use telephoto lenses, preferably 100-400, 70-300 and other telephoto lenses.

3. Cable release or remote control.

Slight shaking will blur the picture, so it is best to release the cable or control the shutter shooting with the remote control.

4. Step on the spot and prepare in advance

Just like shooting the moon and the starry sky, you need to determine the shooting time and place in advance. Of course, it is best to get ready the night before, to step on the place, find a good prospect, and conceive a good shooting plan. When observing on the spot, we should pay attention to the surrounding buildings, environmental light pollution and other factors.

5. Use full manual mode

When shooting the moon, it is usually in a dark environment. Therefore, if automatic or aperture priority, shutter priority and program automatic mode are used when shooting, the camera's metering system will be misled by the dark environment and mistakenly think that the light is insufficient, so the shutter will slow down or increase the aperture.

Finally, it is very likely to cause overexposure. Therefore, it is best to set the camera to full manual mode when shooting, and then fine-tune the photos according to the environment. A common parameter setting is: aperture f/8, shutter1125, ISO 100, which can be used as your reference.
