The highest-ranking director in China
Zhang Yimou,1born in Xi, Shaanxi Province on April 2, 950, is a film director in China, one of the representatives of the "fifth generation directors", honorary doctor of Boston University and Yale University, and distinguished professor of Beijing Film Academy. 1978 entered the photography department of Beijing Film Academy. 1982 was assigned to Guangxi Film Studio after graduation. 1984 worked as a photographer for the first time in the film One and Eight, and won the China Film Excellent Photographer Award.
1986 starred in the first film "Old Well" and won three best actors. 1987, the first film "Red Sorghum" won the Golden Bear Award at the first international film festival in China, and from then on, it began to realize its own trilogy of film creation, from photographer to actor to director. After 2002, the commercial films Hero, House of Flying Daggers, Golden Flower in the City and flowers of war set the box office record in China twice and won the annual Chinese box office champion four times.
