1938 At around 8 a.m. on the 21st day of the third lunar month, seven or eight Japanese invaders walked along the railway from Xiapiaotun Station, 3 miles southwest of Hexia Village, towards Xihexia Village. As soon as they left the railway, they opened fire on the village with machine guns. People heard the sound of gunfire and ran away to the north.
When the Japanese invaders entered the village, a blind man named Ma who lived in the south of the village was grinding mills. I don’t know what happened. The Japanese invaders came closer, pulled the trigger, and shot the blind man to death after a burst of bullets. , and then set the blind man’s house on fire. After that, the Japanese invaders fired brimstone bombs into the village again. On this day, 15 houses in a village in Xihexia Village were on fire.

On the 25th, three to four hundred Japanese invaders rushed towards the river again. Lower the village. This time the Japanese invaders went on a killing spree as soon as they arrived. Villager Ma Junchen was shot in the leg and fell to the ground. The Japanese invaders surrounded him, stabbed him with bayonets, dragged the body to the street, and threw it into a burning pile of firewood. Ma Junchen was killed. His brother Ma Junpeng saw the Japanese invaders carrying his brother's body and throwing it into the fire. He was so angry that he rushed forward desperately. The Japanese invaders held him down again, tied his hands behind his back, and also threw him into the fire.
Ma Ruiqin’s mother wanted to run to another village, but was shot to death by the Japanese invaders. Four villagers from Donghexia Village, including Zhang Hongyan, Chen Shijiao, Zhang Xikang and Zhang Xirong, were taken to the railway side by the Japanese invaders. Long and short guns were fired at once, knocking down the four people and stabbing them one by one with bayonets. Afterwards, the Japanese army cut off Chen Shijiao's genitals and fed them to wolf dogs.
